Why isn't Utah extending Hayward, instead opting to let him become a free agent? Silly question but it seems they must be trying to gauge his worth on the market. However, tonight we saw that Parsons is worth more than what we're paying him.
Utah has a chance to draft Jabari Parker(likely top 5 pick) next year. He plays the same position as Hayward and is similar to Carmelo Anthony without the baggage. Get this.....Jabari Parker is a black Mormon!!
They are very close in most areas, about average or little below. Hayward can create a little bit, and is a better shooter. Oh, btw, the JAZZ commentators are unbelievable. I have heard a lot of home-bias broadcasters, but none of them come close to those guys. It's getting to the point of not even funny any more.
Let's just look at the stats tonight: ____Parsons_____Hayward MIN__42:17______38:10 PTS___24_________15 FG%__.571_______.438 3P%__.500_______.200 FT%__1.00_______.500 REB__12_________5 AST___6_________2 EFF___+11_______-19 Uuuuuhh. . . . I think I'd take Parsons!
Why Heyward thinks he's worth more than $10mil/yr(or whatever the Jazz offer was) is beyond me. Whatever, not our problem.
Hayward was actually asking for 4 years/50 million+, so he is basically saying he is worth more than Andre Iguodala. I'll be surprised if teams actually commit that much to him.
I match your jazz commentators and raise you Sean Elliott (ps i switched broadcasts after the first 5 minutes lol)
Looks like tonight's game gave CP the landslide victory. By that logic, your answer would likely change every game.
Be prepared for Parsons to ask for this much. As Morey has said multi-skilled two way SFs are just behind Cs in the overpaid stakes becuase they're rare. Remember two teams were willing to give Batum the contract he got.
Hayward is going to be a star. I think Parsons may have better numbers for now, but Hayward will be the better player in two years.
