his skill set and the team's skill set decided for him. even if he is not injured, first Q of first game vs lottery bobcats already shown that line up lack of creativity and been locked down offensively. he need to improve his playmaking, harden cant do everything all the time, and he is not yet at the level that can take some load off harden's shoulder.

maybe morey's stat shows he is better fit but stat is not everything, the game is dynamic and the other team will response to you and if you are too predictable you get caught, this is a professional league and if one team figure you out everyone copy, at that time blame the stat and fire it? :)

I believe this to be patently false.
There is absolutely no evidence of any distraction for the team or the point guards in question.
In fact, most information suggests the opposite.

The only distraction has been the faction here that is hellbent on Lin starting, all else be damned.

Hey... if believing that McHale would have changed the lineup after 10 minutes makes you feel better, go for it. LOL. I have no idea at all what your 2nd paragraph is supposed to say, so.... yeah.

My point is that Beverley is injured, so Jeremy is starting. That isn't likely to change when he returns, as long as we're winning -- and it shouldn't. Why not relax and just go with it until you have some evidence that McHale intends to tinker with things? That's all I'm saying.

    Post-game Analysis:

    We are 3-0.

Back-to-back wins over 2 of Houston's long-time hated franchises, the Mavs and Jazz. It feels good to be a part of this New Age.

This one was a tale of 2 halves.

    1st Half
The same problems we saw in the first two games of the season plagued us early: turnovers and an ineffective TT.

It was mentioned in the half that the Rockets players were "feeling the altitude". This could have been it, as it was a completely different team from what we've seen in the pre-season and the first 2 games.

Kanter out-rebounded and out-hustled the bigs while Hayward caused some major problems with the PnR defense. Harden's shots weren't falling and the entire team committed turnovers. The Jazz took a commanding 19 point lead in the 2nd quarter.

Despite the tough first half, 2 things jumped out at me as being a positive sign:
    1) Effectiveness of Chandler Parsons, who finally got his first 3 of the season along with crisp drives to the hole.
    2) Dwight Howard making most of his FTs to render HaH useless.

    2nd Half
"Those who control the boards control the game."
Asik and Howard were noticeably different in the 3rd, boxing out their opponents and leading the charge for a Rockets come-back. Unlike the Mavs game, both bigs were not in foul-trouble, which led to extended minutes for the TT in the 3rd.

A couple of scary moments with both Harden and Parsons limping, but this seemed to have lit a fuse, as our offense finally started to click. Our 2 superstars stepped it up and Dwight continued to hit his FTs.

In the 4th, we saw McHale go small with his lineup. Both Garcia and Harden started heating up from the 3 point line. Jeremy Lin went from Linvisible to Linsanity, making shots from the paint, mid-range, and 3 point line.

The Jazz with a questionable decision not to foul Dwight in the last minute. Perhaps his FT makes had affected this decision?

Overall, a very hard-fought win. It's nice to know that the Rockets have the character and composure to comeback from 19 down without imploding. It's nice to have the personnel to go big or small when need be.

Our next big test awaits: the Clippers.

Bev will still start because we need Lins offense off the bench and Bev is Dwight's boy

Dwight should never get less than 10 rebounds, but other than that he was solid. Props to him for knocking down 7/10 free throws.

Yes I am sure Bev and Lin are totally happy to be competing against each other for the starting spot. Just like last year everybody was sure that Lin had no problem being benched in the 4th quarter because he was a team player. Didn't we find out this year that Lin isn't as much of a team player as we like to think he is.

Here's the thing though. Lin won't be given the opportunity to do what he did in the fourth quarter if he has a mediocre game at the beginning if he's a back up. And I do believe Lin is a great crunch time player and always has been.

    We are 3 and 0.
We can reasonably look forward to championship contention for a solid few years (starting this year or next year debatably).
We have a insane amount of talent that surpasses any of the Yao McGrady years
We got a taste of the Howard/Harden tandem
Lin has made visible improvements and is on his way to putting up two solid seasons for us and quieting the doubters
Parsons continues to impress, despite the blowback to the "best value player" stories he got last year

Outside of Beverley being injured, we gotta enjoy this moment before the inevitable bumps in the season happen and we're launched into panic/second guessing mode. Rare moment guys...

To the LOFs, I get that you gotta defend your boy because of the Linsanity haters. Vast majority of non-trolls are not doubting that Lin is a solid NBA player at this point. This decision by Mchale might be disastrous mistake, but lets wait for the evidence. 6th man or starter, Lin is not going to fade into NBA obscurity because of a lack of opportunity

This. This. This. This. Both of them are team-first guys who do whatever is asked of them.

The drama is here on CF and elsewhere in social media. Bev is my fave guy on the team, but I've always said I don't give a hoot who starts. Both good players, both get heavy minutes, we've won with both. If we're winning, I could not possibly care less. But the fact that Jeremy is currently starting and will be for the foreseeable future -- and people are STILL melting down -- I doubt that level of meltdown over an issue that no longer exists is really happening in the locker room.

Maybe I think too highly of our guys and am being naive, but I honestly think they are fine. I also think Beverley is just exceedingly grateful to be where he is and will be just fine coming off the bench when he returns, if that's the decision. If we were talking about a couple of other players on the roster I'd think differently, but the two of them strike me as possibly the two most genuine "good" guys we have.

What did he say on 610? I haven't heard him say anything about the starting PG position since Beverley got hurt, but I may have missed it.

Unrelated, I really detest Richard Jefferson. I have no legitimate reason for disliking him -- I just do. LOL.

ETA: I can use him shoving Cisco as an excuse to dislike him now.

At this moment i dont really care for Bev he plays good defense but JLin is playing really great lately and he can only get better.Last season JLin have a overall good season..It wasnt like Linsanity but it was good enough to take the rockets to the finals..JLin is point guard of course his turn over going to be high (he cut down on turn over dramatically last season) as for Harden his main focus is to the shoot the ball..He trying to do it all. If you let JLin run the ball i promise you he will make the whole team better..

Your logic is so biased, though. When people call out Harden, people come to his defense and rightfully so. And when people call out Lin, people are going to defend him as well. But so many get cray up in here when people defend Lin though they themselves come to the defense of Parsons, Harden or Bev. All you are saying is that people shouldn't criticize Harden unfairly but assume Lin is always treated fairly. What about posters like me? I love Hardens game AND Bevs game AND Lin's game. But when I come to defend Bev or Harden which I do often no one argues with me while when I defend Lin, I get called all sorts of names. The only way to have peace is respect each group and player but a large contingent of posters do not like any defense of Lin. And trust me, Ibhwre people who criticize Harden or Bev or even McHale unfairly as well. Abd you would have to be nearly blind if you don't see people knock Lin unfairly much much more than Harden, Parsons, or Bev. That is why a lot of Lin fans fall into the trapbof retaliating by criticizing others under the same criteria Lin is criticized by.

Raptor-like screams after dunks when his team is down by 30?

Weird voice that sounds like Chappelle's white man impersonation?
