Woah ,..this is the sequel to "Stan". It's in his little brothers perspective "Mathew ". Mind blown .
Fa show. Bro you must've been on some **** to not like Rap God. This album is legit. Will be coping the actual album when it drops no doubt.
I was never a true Eminem "fan". he has been off my radar since 1999, in fact. I am very intrigued by this new album, however.
Heard the whole album. It is sick. It is one of his best albums -- easily best in 10 years. He even has a very different approach to "cleaning out my closet" in one of them. Didn't like Survival, Berzerk (just too all over the place), Stronger than I was. Monster, So Much Better are ok. Rest of the album is awesome.
Eminem crosses so many genres it's impossible for any album he produces to be uncontroversial. But this alblum satisfies enough people across all walks of life I can't see it being anything less than a huge hit. Might even be legendary one day. Rap God is amazing.
I would rank this after TES and before Infinite. I really like this album, lots of new things for Em and a lot of people seem to enjoy it. The only gripe I have with it is the story-telling on Bad Guy and Legacy, he just gets lazy with his word choice and it comes off kind of boring, aside from the switch in Bad Guy. Great tracks: Brainless - the wordplay with the whole orange thing was insane and a great beat) Love Game - oh lawdy, cannot stop listening to this, that last verse by Em was just amazing and Kendrick's was great as well. Rap God - straight spittin for 6 mins, awesome flow covers the not so great beat and hook Rhyme or Reason - nice sample and I love the different personas he displays in each verse. So Much Better - One of the better hooks on this LP imo and sounded like some MMLP type stuff. So Far - Em took a blind swing and hit a ******* home run, I dig this track a lot especially with the switches from I'm Back and Real Slim Shady. Decent tracks: Bad Guy - I love love love love the concept of this song but I just hate his storytelling on the 1st two verses(it might be that he's trying to portray a bad flow because it's in the perspective of Matthew, but it just sounds bad), the switch from Stan is awesome and I like the last couple of verses a lot, the wordplay with the MM thing is great. ******* - I love the drumline type beat and is the fast flow. Bezerk - best production of the whole album imo, verses were below average for Slim, but the hook is pretty catchy. Evil Twin - This is a generally good song, but I feel like he forced it with the first half of the last verse calling out all those celebrities, well yea he called him out, but what did he really say about them? Okay tracks: The Monster - damn it Rhianna, this song as so damn catchy, I generally don't like Em on pop songs but I'm sure I'll listen to this plenty when my wife's in the car. Headlights - I really do appreciate the fact the he dedicated his a song to his mom, but I just can't dig it, not a bad song per-say but just not my cup of tea. Survival - A lot of people really ****ted on this track when it came out, but honestly, the lyrics are there, I think the hate is coming from the Poppy hook and he did have some lame punchlines. Bad tracks: Legacy - I just could not get into his story telling, I like the idea of starting each verse with the same line, but his verses just bored me, add on to the fact the song has a pop hook, I just don't see this song getting played very by me Stronger than I was - Again, I really respect Em for making these types of songs(along with Headlights) but, straight up, Em is not a good singer. Overall, I'd give it a solid 7.5, I'll get a lot of replay value with this album, I'll be bumping this in my car along with Blue Chips 2 and Delusional Thomas until I get some more Bino, Q and Ab-soul.
Eminem is no doubt a great rapper. But, damned if I can understand practically anything coming out of his mouth. I turned the subtitles on for his SNL appearance and I couldn't even keep up with that plus it was like several words behind which made it more confusing. It sounded good, though. But, dude's rapping so fast it's like a jumbled mess. Is that what good rap is all about? Maybe if he rapped solo but with all the sound coming from that stage...he was bit drowned out imo in that first song. I want his voice to stand out in the performance above all that other crap if you ask me. "Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?" No.
Wow my exact opinion. Survival, Berzerk and even ******* were the weak links. Once you get to the bonus tracks it gets insane. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDlrfs3OTOI My favorite track on the album. If you had any doubt that this album is most similar to MMLP or that Eminem still has it listen to this track immediately! He rips it for 4+ straight minutes of a fury not seen since MMLP. Basically sounds like a warning to all MC's out there that he is still not to be fu**ed with.
Evil Twin, Bad Guy, Wicked Ways, Groundhog Day, Legacy, Brainless...If you want to hear a more classic sounding Eminem. All can be found on Youtube.
I'm surprised Headlights is not as liked as I thought it would be. If you are going to make a "poppy" song, it will be a song apologizing to and forgiving his mom (which for decades it would seem you wanted her dead). I thought it was a great song and completely unexpected. I mean, Eminem saying I love you to his mom?

Being a christian, only part i don't like is the part where he says "satan take the wheel, ill take the from the seat". Stuff like that hurts my ears.
Love Game and So Far, two absolutely sick tracks that I cannot quit listening too. Kendrick and him = ****ing gold! Pretty sad dude lip synced on SNL and had to look at the teleprompter the whole time. Does he not know his on lyrics? Horrible performance.
