It's obvious that you and many posters think McHale made a GREAT decision to sub out the entire starting lineup when he did with almost 4 minutes to go, I get that. I just disagree with you all and think that it can cost us a couple of games and position in the standings at the end of the year for our playoff race.

I think a smarter coach would have waited a little longer or only subbed in maybe 3 guys at that point, and waited to take out the final two starters with about 2 minutes to go...IMHO.

When you're opinion is polling at 4% it's time to give up. You're barely ahead of "margin of error."

Two things, link for the article please.

And what do you mean by "not as bad as you portray him to be"?

Other than saying that I thought he subbed ALL of the starters out too early and that I and others have questioned his substitution and rotation patterns over the last couple of years, what else have you read that I said about him that is so bad in this thread?

because mchale didnt think the bench is this bad, they arent really playing defense and on offense scrub is trying to pad their score

There's a poll in this thread that I missed? Do you have anything of value to add other than that you don't agree with me?

What, you want anyone that doesn't agree with you or the majority to not voice their opinions? Don't they have a name for that?

Laughing at how much time the OP has put into this.

Very congested schedule, game was safe.

I'm not arguing its a great decision. I said that if he did what you suggested, I would have been fine with that.

The point I'm trying to get across is that whether he played the regulars or not, there was little chance it would have made any difference. So, its just not something where there's a clear-cut RIGHT decision and WRONG decision. Just be happy with the win! :)

I agree with this. It was unlikely that we lose the game either way. I just think the coach should not contribute to the POSSIBILITY of us losing a lead like that, but making such a poor decision of when to substitute, how many to substitute and WHO to substitute in as a group. Change ANY of those three things, and I would have NEVER started this thread.

Carlisle had waved the white flag.

I don't think he was doing it to motivate the starters.

    McHale did the right thing.

and Harden was lacing them up and getting ready to go in if needed.

    it wasn't needed.

4 games in 5 nights might have something to do with it.

You do realize that Pop has rested most of his starting lineup for an entire game at a time.

I'm done with this thread and the other. I said what I had to say, clarified and expressed it further, and the MOF crowd can feel free to disagree. I have no problem with that.

Let's pray for a Rocket's championship and for McHale and each of the Rocket's players to all improve and take us to the promise land, so that we can all walk down Richmond again tipsy and partying to the sound of WIN WIN WIN CLUTCH CITY WIN!

i'm sure if that doesn't happen, and whatever players or coaches make mistakes, this board will surely continue to point those out and produce threads about it.

"MOF"? What the heck is that?

I think you just tipped your hand: Anti-McHale agenda. I think you are trying too hard to find a flaw. Here's a tip, if you want to criticize the coach, it is usually more effective after a loss.

Unfortunately, despite the time you took to write this up, there are serious flaws and mistakes in your argument. 17 point lead with 3:58 and Nowitski fouled out? Of course you bring in your bench. And you're very suspect in your argument about Morey trading McHale's favorite players.

Didn't the Warriors do that in the playoffs to the Spurs last year? (and almost to Denver as well)
