You know what it is. A lot of the sensitive guys think that all Lin fans are actually just one Chinese guy newbie 2013er that never heard of basketball until Lin came along and calls McHale names and hates Harden and Bev and brings them down to prop Lin up. It can never occur in their wildest dreams that in fact many fans of Lins game are indeed Rockets fans or will/can be Rockets fans and know a thing or two about basketball and they just have an opinion. Oh, and abybidiotic comment calling McHale racist or criticizing another Rocket player is automatically attributed to all posters defending Lin from just as idiotic haters who will pick out anything bad from Lin's game or stats as indicative of everyone being delusional about Lin's potential..

Can't we just get along? Lin's turnovers today were stupid and he needs to cut it out. But he wsid contribute today and we won. Let's just be happy. 10-0 here we come!

The issue is not the criticisms but all you ever do is criticise, that one player. You have few positives to say, and any positives are always like a tooth extraction. We get it, you don't particularly love his game. But others do, which is their right. You want to defend your right to be neg wll then don't complain when the opposite side does the reverse. I agree with you, the anti-Lin rhetoric is tiring, and I am glad some posters are calling out the culprits, and it is the same few over and over again.

This is what i've been saying all along. Whether Lin plays bad or good, someone somwhere will always ruin things around and start World War 3.

On another note, we've got a game tomorrow against the Jazz so i'm pretty excited.

The most important thing is that Harden and Lin complemented each other, and made things easier for the entire team which led to a win.
Playing together will lead to greater consistency, and more victories.

Missed the game so thought I'd check the GARM to get a summary of what happened...how crazy was that thought?

We need him to facilitate more with the first unit.
Minority and majority are different; oppressed.
    Nice! Didn't Dwight join in???
    This one is for Cxbby
Amazing. Well, Dwight had 9 rebounds in the first quarter, so I thought he was going to get to 36!
How about the preseason game? When Lin was under the weather?
    +1
When Harden handles the ball alot, the teammates don't feel as involved as when Lin handles.

If Harden didn't have the ball last night in the crunch we would have lost. He and Casspi were the main reasons we won. Plus majority of lins turnovers were careless. he had two silly turnovers at the start of the 3rd that helped the Mavs build on their momentum.

Thanks for telling us that when Harden has a bad game, we're likely to lose. We could have never figured that out on our own.

Is Harden going to play 40 minutes every night over the whole season ? If so, he's going to get some wear and tear in that body of his. :(

Keep in mind that the Rockets are presently one of just 6 teams with no losses. Let's hope that this trend continues. I still have a very good feeling about this team. I like the chemistry. The team is deep and has some amazing talent. Let the coach take care of the roster usage. Everybody here thinks he/she is a NBA coach, but is not. And there is a reason for it.

that's why we want other guys handle the ball in normal time to save his energy for the devastating burst when we really need it. if it was included in the game plan then they executed it very well. they really should stick to what did work before and grab some wins establish foundation for the season, then blend in something new little by little, rather than go wild and get ugly like the 1st Q of 1st game, it's unnecessary.

Philly could be this year's Rockets. Everyone expect them to be bad and instead just by running and gunning they could be around .500 team. Which is more then enough to enter the eastern conference playoffs.

I totally agree with you. The team was killed at the entrance, but the Houston touch took over there as well. The better they are doing, the more I like it.

Can you imagine how good they'll be when they get Bev back into the starting line up? Can't wait for that!

I think Steve Nash can be compared to Lin. Very much so. Not now, of course. But in Nash's first 2 full years of play he was comparable to Lin. Nash shoots the ball better, Lin is a quicker more athletic dribble/drive slashing finisher, but Nash wasn't Nash until like 4 to 5 years as a full-time PG and played as a PG. Lin has potential to be a passing/scoring PG but he's playing a different system and role and so far, has had a ball hog post/jump shooting high-scoring forward in Anthony to play with and a fellow play-making creator scorer in Harden to play with. When he doesn't have a fellow ball-dominant player he often emerges with higher numbers. He has too many TOs, he'll eventually have less but it won't come overnight.

Honestly, folks are making too much of Lin's TO's and Parson's shooting.

It's one game, ie the sample size is very, very small.

If you average 4 TO's per game you won't get 4 TO's every game, a lot of games you'll get 2-3 TO's and 5-6 TO's. The same applies to shooting where 50% shooting means some games you'll shoot 30% and other games you'll shoot 70%.

Let's also not forget that the refs were totally screwy. It started in the 2nd quarter once we were blowing Dallas. It's almost completely predictable. If you take too much of an early lead, the refs start whipping out the whistles to try to make the game closer. It happens so often to high scoring teams that it's almost a rule in the NBA that the Refs like to take away your momentum if you start to humiliate the opposing team too much.

The main takeaways I had from last night's game...

    1) Expect a lot of hack-a-howard. Most teams can't stop our offense so they'll take their chances at the line.
    2) Twin Towers is great but the risk is they rack up fouls WAY too fast. Twin Towers lasted all of 51s in the first quarter and Dwight fouled out late in game. Personally I'd prefer the single center rotation except against teams with dominant front lines.
    3) Expect teams to utilize the Zone fairly often since few teams can beat us man to man given our offense.
    4) Our defense is looking improved all around this year, both individually and as a team.

The rest pretty much falls within expected variation.

The game was a blowout (10+ lead) for nearly the entire night, and we were leading by 17 with 4 minutes left when we cleared the bench. Given it's only the 2nd game of the season, it will get better as the players find their rhythm and improve their chemistry.

Relax, enjoy the wins and watch as it continues to improve. If we see the same stuff over the next 10 games, then I'll start getting worried. :)
