Scotty is pretty awful. His willingness to play Perkins instead of Collison is a head-scratcher. I remember the OKC series last year thanking holy Jesus every time Perkins was subbed in. Collison was killing us that whole series and wasn't getting the playing time. If you go back Collison is the reason we lost that series not KM.

Relegating Harden to the bench instead of Sefalosha thinking that Harden's abilities were redundant in the starting lineup with Westbrook was really stupid. Ibaka should be a better player. right now he is a rich man's Patrick Patterson. I feel if Scotty was a better coach he would find a way to make Ibaka into an allstar.

Still no offense. If Durant doesn't score 30 plus that team is sunk.

I honestly don't know. They obviously built that offense to have role players around Harden/Westbrook/Durant trio. So with 2 of 3 gone, what else can they do? Plus whatever you want to say about Kevin Martin, he spreads the floor as well as any player in the NBA. While no one's going to respect Lamb's shot.

The Rockets for example simply have better role players than OKC when it comes to handling the ball.

Been singing this song for years. His love affair with Jeff Green that held back Harden and Ibaka was transferred to Perkins and is still there.

It's funny watching sentiment on CF finally come around. Coach Bonehead is just not a sharp tool. Very nice guy though.

    - Seems to think an ancient Derrick Fisher is an essential part of a contending team.
    - Slathers love and minutes on Perkins when he has 5x the player in Collison rotting on the bench
    - No offensive plays whatsoever.

    Yeah, he's pretty bad.

I'll just say this, he's been VERY lucky to get the players he has had on that OKC team over the course of his tenure as HC...

I'm not a big fan of his offense. But I cannot deny that in 2012, he made defensive adjustments in the Spurs series that beat Popovich.

Down 0-2. Won 4 games in a row. That wasn't lucky like our resident Spur defender VGB will tell us

Y'all probably don't remember that, because y'all don't love defense as much as me and JVG :p

He's definitely lucky to have Durant, WB, Ibaka and formerly Harden. He's a good guy and i do fondly remember his energizer bunny days but...

Overall the offense is just lacking in movement. At times Ibaka, Sefolosha ect. turn into zombies because, they are left standing and watching. Westbrook is no shooter but, i think he would be better served playing the 2 along side a floor general type point guard. Playing one on one battles and winning on just purely talent alone can only get you so far, it takes a well equipped team to win it all. The Heats first trip to the finals is a good example of that. They didn't win until they surrounded the big three with shooters(allen[second ring]) and defenders(battier, birdman). Ibaka is a great athlete but he has no post game and is only an average mid-range shooter. Presti did a hell of a job drafting but, he doesn't necessarily surround Durant/WB well. I could go on...

I ask you all this... If they never win a ring together would you take Durant/Westbrook or Shaq/Penny? In terms of underachieving duo.
(I exclude McGrady/Yao because they had one healthy year together)

I said it last year. He's as overrated as it gets. It took him 6 games in the playoff series to realize that Perkins was the worst player on the floor 99% of the time. The only time he wasn't was when Greg Smith was in the game.

I feel like he gives Perkins a lot of minutes as a futile attempt to justify trading away Harden.

WB has his moments, but taking the ball out of his hands is not the solution. Make him an off-ball 2 guard and you lose 90% of what makes him special.

He's a bad in game coach but the Thunder have done a great job developing players. Defensively, the Thunder are quite good too.

So, if he's not a good coach, does that mean OKC should have won the championship 2 years ago over the Heat? That would mean a serious hit to LBJ's legacy, in that he wasn't good enough to win a ring even with a super team. If you're not saying OKC should have beaten the Heat, then Brooks' coaching deficiencies really are of no consequence, and we don't really need to bother talking about it. So which is it, LBJ really isn't that good, or Brooks is a terrible coach?
