ClutchFans Game Thread: Mavericks @ Rockets 11/1/2013

The way to break 2-3 zone defense relies on penetrating then moving screen , passing. Pretty easy text book system to break.Harden, Lin ,Garcia andparsons all can do some penetrating work, but the problem is we don't really have a system. Feel bad for these young and talent warriors, the Coach is Really really suck.

 

It's called slipping rope. Don't you see anything like this in other working places?

Why is there discrimination? Easier to be scapegoated and harder to be promoted?

 

A lot of day and night in this game:

Dwight Howard was an absolute beast early
and then the team was an absolute bust when they inexplicably went away from him.

Lin showed why this team needs Lin early
then Lin showed why this team needs Beverley later.

Aaron Brooks showed he was the best third string point guard in the league early
and then showed why he's a third string point guard in the league late.

Chandler Parson's face is on the front of magazines
and his game is on the back of milk cartons.

Omer Asik was a madman grabbing 12 rebounds in 15 minutes.
Omer Asik was madman fouling out in 15 minutes.

The game felt like a 2 or 3 point game all night
but the reality is the Rockets had a double digit lead almost throughout.

The ball movement was a thing of beauty early in the game
but every starter had more turnovers than assists at the end.

The one constant: The magnificence of James Harden

 

Yeah: Utah is only in the 2nd quarter of their game tonight. Good for tomorrow.

Lin - pushed ball we went back to run & gun, held Calderon to 0 points and he had 0 fouls

asik - SOLID really impressed with his 12 rebounds in 15mins, and was actually trying to dunk and finish stronger around the rim, no bobbled ball TOs today, knocked down his free throws

need to work on

Lin - TOs, but still like him aggressive, we were up 20 when he had 4 of 6 TOs at half

parsons - what I've said all summer he been to worried about magazines, lime light bad game, we needed u to step up tonight and u didn't, sti believe in him for what he has done before only 2nd game

Howard- offense

mchale- out coached at times but still go W I will take it

 

the rockets dont have a system? lol what.

the Rockets have a well documented complex read and react system.

 

It's called discrimination. Admit it.

 

A win is a win. I will take it every day. Love the first quarter. This is how the team should play. The season is still young. Up and down are expected.

 

We need to hire Calvin Murphy to be our free throw coach. That will be money well spent! He would love to do it!

Messy game from the start with Asik in foul trouble. The Towers never had a chance this game.

Did yall see Beverly? He looked like the coach, so animated in his little suit lol

 

Get UR b****ing ass out of here. This game would have been very different without Lin. And the team had 22 turnovers so it wasn't just Lin. We got a win and still the b****ing. Thank God for Harden, Asik, Lin and Garcia tonight. If you want to whine then do so over Parsons who was MIA.

 

BTB with Utah. Have to get the starters out asap. Which McHale did well to realise.

Lin needs to cut down his TOs, well maybe it's the first time he plays with The Starters so let's hope next game he will be more comfortable playing with these guys.

 

I thought this was the game thread. Why don't you take that crap somewhere else.

 

actually this is the 1st game this season his turnovers were as bad as they were. it's amazing harden can have a 5 or 6 game and no one says a word

 

I thought Lin played incredible today. Whatever the results may be, he was decisive and attacked the defense. It's what he's being paid to do and it's his best quality. TOs are going to come as a result. Obviously you don't want 6 TOs, but how they came about is the right way.

If he keeps this mindset, he's going to a top 10 PG.

 

good post. it's a team out there playing needs to be the same way on the board.

 

Mavs had to resort to zone D and hack a Dwight in order to stay in the game. Even with a slow down tactics by the Mavs the Rockets still pushed through for the W. Next up the Jazz.

 

Then can you tell me why 2-3 zone stop us so well today???
