It's just absolutely ridiculous that we can't watch our top 5 team with 2 top ten talents and an exciting supporting cast. I'm done with watching ****ty feeds out of Uzbekistan on my computer when I'm IN THE SAME CITY THE TEAM PLAYS IN. At what point does Les get involved in this? Couldn't fathom us going through this another entire season.

Yep...after a whole year, Comcast brought back only ONE carrier willing to make an offer (DirecTV)...and if accepted, that offer was so low the station would literally bleed cash...to the tune of a $200 million loss by 2020. Even if that very same offer were accepted from all the other carriers, they were going to bleed cash. That was testified to by both George Postolos and a Comcast officer.

The ratings don't lie. Wednesday Game had the best ratings in CSN's history. There is demand.

All that said, it was still an offer that was turned down. Rockets fans could have watched their team until the station folded, right? Then there was the domino effect with the other providers that we'll never know about.

My point was to not solely blame CSN for the mess. The Astros played a huge part in it as well.

    Agreed...they're all to blame.

But I don't blame anyone for turning down a deal that would have them bleed money...particularly to the extent they all testified it would be even with the domino effect on the very same terms. Once you accept that deal, you're not going to find the other carriers coming in to offer significantly more.

The initial mistake was partnering with Comcast to begin with. They picked the wrong partner.

EDIT: wrong thread for this discussion, I guess...sorry about that.

I really doubt any of the providers except this deal unless a long term agreement is imminent. I just wonder about the game on Monday night on NBA-TV. Will it be blacked out to those of us who don't have Comcast and thus CSN-H like the other Rocket's games on NBA-TV are?

So much bad info in this thread. I guess taking cheap shots at the Astros is the cool thing to do these days .

Watch everyone jump back on the bandwagon in 2 or 3 years.

I have backed off on blaming the Sto's a little bit(at least until we find out what they can do now that they are the lead negotiators) but I can guarantee I will not get back on the bandwagon as long as they reside in the AL irregardless if they become more than a complete and total joke. I can't root for another team, so I will give up baseball until they return to the NL hopefully some day.

Looks like as someone already said, no carrier want to pay the Astros for Rockets ratings.

Its a bad pairing. Hope the Astros and Rockets split to just end this awkward tandem. Completely different directions both justified

Nobody cares. Good riddance, we don't need you.

And the Rockets don't need you on their bandwagon either. Move to Dallas.

If you read the article you would have known it was Les & the Rockets who asked for this "45 day trial" to be offered to carriers.

Time to bombard them. No reason not to accept a free service other than as a negotiating ploy. At least drag this out into the public.

I saw that the Rockets agreed to it, didn't see where they asked for it. Quote?
