While I, unlike you, admit and recognize my bias, it isn't bias that causes me to roll my eyes at this latest attempt to smear the president and, by extension, democrats. I wish you could stop mindlessly banging your head against the wall labeled "OBAMAZ BAD," but I have absolutely no confidence that you will ever do so.

You'll never get it because you are blinded by your ideology. The major difference between you and I is that I recognize my ideological leanings and account for them, you are just an unthinking shill, like the Energizer Bunny just banging your cymbals while going and going, never actually stopping to think, consider facts, or use critical thinking skills.

The one who should be embarrassed is you, given your pathetic posting history.

The potent kook-aid that lasted for 5 years. I'm afraid Barry has gotten you by your balls and there is no antidote for it. Good luck finding the cure.

This is not the latest attempt to smear your dear leader, he's doing it all to himself by repeatedly lying to us. We all knew this sham was a piece of turd when he jammed it down our throat 4 years ago.

    I didn't vote for Obama.

14 months of deliberation in Congress is hardly "jammed down" anyone's throat, except perhaps for the freeloaders who don't want to purchase insurance, which raises rates on the rest of us.

Keep sucking that Fox Koch, they'll come all over your face anytime now and it will be glorious when they put it on the internet.

Aww, don't be upset because you still got Barry down your throat. Did he get some on your face too? Common, come to Barry and he'll make it all better.

Yea but you're missing the whole point, obama doesn't care about normal people all he cares about are the poor and worthless who can't even find a way to pay for their own insurance. If you can pay for your own insurance you are a greedy b*stard and should donate insurance so others can have it to you ungrateful jerk. Po people need phonez and free food and free homes and free insurancez and if they dont get it we evil

Certainly not even in the realm of a large enough sample (or stratosphere for that matter), but a good friend who buys his own insurance just (in Texas) just had his premiums triple

Tell him to search for a new plan for 12-1 effective date if he is healthy. He can email me through the board if he needs help.

December is the last chance to save premium.

Obvious consequence of individual mandate is obvious?

There have to be some standards for what constitutes a reasonable amount of coverage.

If there weren't, I could buy a healthcare plan that costs $1/month and returns $5 to me when I get sick, and say "but look, I have healthcare." Effectively bypassing the individual mandate.

And then when I get T-boned by a drunk driver and am taken unconscious to an ER where they are required to treat me, everyone who pays for an actual healthcare plan effectively shares whatever part of my bill I can't pay.

Apparently this is hard to figure out now?

it wasn't obvious to Obama. 'If you like your plan, you can keep your plan'. Or maybe it was obvious to Obama.......

Still it wasn't obvious to so many Obamacare supporters who are now confused by their cancellation letters

To me, when he said that, it was clearly implicit that the exception would be if your plan didn't meet minimum standards. It's completely fundamental to the idea of an individual mandate. Again... the $1 insurance hypothetical.

Anyone who missed that subtext just ain't paying attention.

Nope. you can even go read the threads on this subject in this forum. Many believed that statement literally.

I know that. Hence my point (I quote myself):

"Many believed" people = "ain't paying attention" people.

    Yep.

Search my posting history. I voted for Johnson/Grey, they would have been much better than either Romney or Obama.

Where do you get that from this 2009 quote:

"So let me begin by saying this to you and to the American people: I know that there are millions of Americans who are content with their health care coverage -- they like their plan and, most importantly, they value their relationship with their doctor. They trust you. And that means that no matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what. My view is that health care reform should be guided by a simple principle: Fix what's broken and build on what works. And that's what we intend to do."

They were writing standards they knew current plans would not meet and telling people they would be able to keep their current plans.

    That's what we call lying.

No wonder they (unlawfully) delayed the employer mandate. Can you imagine how many cancellation notices would be going out if that was being enforced?
