This isn't the first time Esteban was shown to be dead wrong, and I doubt it will be the last. The question is why he would be wrong about something like that?
If that is truly you than you have my apologies for calling you a fake marine. I'm not sure what the hell happened to you that you have turned all the way to the left like that. I will try to post my basic training picture if I can find it(1985).
I don't understand this. Why would any rational man go out of his way to meet a crazy he replied to on the internet? You think it's the pinnacle of manhood in these days and age to call somebody out and possibly have a physical sh!tfest?
He was the one who called me a p***y and a douchebag, who hides behind my keyboards and does not have the guts to express my opinions in person.
Be honest esteban... Have you ever told a black man in his face that he should be thankful for slavery?
Are we playing that game again? I thought you're not going to waste your time to have this discussion in person. Be honest chowdhury, are you trolling eveyone on this board HARD or are you really this far left? I work with wounded veterans all the time, their horrific injuries are unimaginable and yet they're very patriotic, none of them have your far left slant. They are almost universally detest Barry(your dear leader) for his treatments of returning wounded vets.
What has he done too me as a wounded vet that should make me upset? How am I far left? I think that blacks SHOULDNT be grateful for slavery makes me far left? No, I would consider myself moderate. And yes you are right, majority of vets lean heavily to the right. Majority of my buddies I served with are hard core conservatives that worship Cruz, Palin, Gohmert types. Majority of them have just enough knowledge to be considered high school educated. Majority of them receive their knowledge of how the government and political system work through facebook messages and circle jerks bashing Obama. I still love them but when it comes to discussing politics they know not to discuss it with me since they know I would absolutely destroy their viewpoints because I receive a "Marxist education" since I attend a liberal university while their knowledge of the government extends to high school social studies. Majority of their b****ing of Obama is in the "customs and courtesies" department. They have no clue about Obama's true legislative history so they try to make him the evil anti American by posting pictures of him not putting his hands on his chest during the national anthem or showing pictures of Bush visiting wounded vets in Walter Reed or Bethesda and commenting "Obama never does this" even though he has visited wounded vets many times.
You sound like a complete douchebag....and I'm not even talking about your twisted political leaning. I'm done with you son!
No......I have a problem with people speaking on things they have little to no understand off. If you don't know what you are talking about and want to express an opinion.....do that. But don't pass it off as fact.
Then you realize that Pan-Africanism is a concept created in the 1900s......meaning that it didn't exist in the 1600s. Therefore you are applying a modern concept to an ancient people. Do you see how that is wrong?
you never answered his simple question. would you tell your black friends, to their faces, that they should be grateful for slavery? yes or no?
Saw the movie, cried for my comrades at the end. Sat through the credits to compose myself even though I normally only shed tears during romantic comedies. The thing is, Esteban has a point. Slavery was a universal truth in the past whether we like it or not. A 100 years ago, 75% of the population was under some form of slavery or pserfdom. Was the treatment of blacks during these times inhumane? In many cases, yes. But. But. It gave them/us (sic) an opportunity to flourish and build a foundation in the US. Blacks have a higher quality of life in the US than any other developed nation in the world, and if you factor into account gross income it's a phenomenal difference. The tribal leaders who sold them out were black and seduced by riches. I don't have pity for those working minimum wage with 4 kids to support, and use slavery as a crutch to be entitled, but there are many sad events in history that led to better futures for future generations. That is all eseteban is trying to say.
Wow, I found this poignant yet insightful. You truly are the ruby of the sea, the Gem of Nepal and the pearl of Kathmandu. Bravo big B. I raise my gat to you. Err, hat.
did Honey Bear forget to sign out of his account before he attempted to thank himself in his esteban character?
I saw 12 Years a Slave. I did not find it hard to watch. There was one whipping scene like the scene from Passion of the Christ which was brutal but I didn't find it hard to watch. I thought it was a good use of CGI and I'd like to see more. I am sad to say that the movie is not nearly as good as the reviews make it out to be. I was expecting a masterpiece and 12 Years definitely did not deliver. I was hoping Django was going to jump out and start killing all the evil white people... Overall...I give it a 6/10.
