any melbournians out there know of any bars or pubs that broadcast NBA games regularly? Have a league pass but would be nice to head out with mates and watch it somewhere!
Your best bet is to find a local pub that has Foxtel, find out when the Rockets games are, and hope that they're showing the game. Usually they have a chalkboard of upcoming sporting events and times. If not, just ask someone at the bar.
Not a lot of places around Melb show nba games, but I agree with the poster above. A pub with foxtel, you'd have the most luck around the CBD, but I think it's really hard to find - especially with the time difference. Your best bet is to go to a pub around noon, a place that has foxtel and not a bunch of customers and just ask if you can change the channel.
*she haha. ok thanks all, although can't see rockets being on foxtel much as it's normally lakers, miami etc but hopefully that'll change next year!
We are getting many more Nationally televised games this year (for the US), last year was a joke! Those games are the ones we get to see on ESPN Australia which means more games for us on TV! Pity i'm yet to meet another Rockets fan from Perth and i've been hunting for 10+ years
I doubt you'd find any...Lets just hope we make it to the second round then you'll see them play the playoffs at the Pub. Also feel your pain Wapzoe, Adelaideian here and haven't found many (Except the recent bandwagoners since the Dwight Howard acquisition)
Used to televise so much NBA on One HD. the quality was amazing. Now its just fishing shows and crap like that.
It's funny because a lot of us in Houston have trouble even seeing the game. I pull up like 5 different streams on gameday and hope they dont lag out or get shut off, and after that I can barely tell the players apart. I Wish there was a pay site to buy one channel =(, cause I dont watch TV apart from the Rockets.
ONE used to be the answer to Foxtels monopoly of american/european sports now its as much drivel as the rest of Australian TV channels WTF happened
The answer is league pass or illegal downloads unfortunately. It's unfortunate because networks can so easily cater to this obvious demand. I don't understand the CSN availability rants on this forum but they clearly are not supplying enough coverage. In Australia, we are the no.1 pirating nation for shows like Breaking bad and GoT because networks just do not deliver. ARRR
I just get league pass. over the 5 months of the season it isn't that expensive and there are no blackout zones in Australia.
if you change your internet proxy to india it works out to be just under 100 bucks with the 15% discount too! although bit late if you've already bought it
