Saw the GSW game last night. David Lee is noticeably slimmer, quicker and higher motor than he was last season. Reminds me of when Kevin Love became. Ore effective after slimming down.

Lee is about to have a really good season.

With the bogut extension I wonder if he's not in their long term plans. They live and die by the 3, and I expect Barnes to be playing the 4 at the end of games.

The title is really misleading to what you are saying -- which is that losing weight like Love did could be a indicator of Lee improving significantly, like Love did. Troll title??

Maybe as a fantasy league player, since that game doesn't really penalize crappy defenders. And, ironically, don't his teams usually rebound better as a team with him on the bench.

btw: he's shot 25, 3s his entire career. I'm not seeing the comparison to Love.

His title is in reference to a sort of Clutchfans meme.

I was just surprised at the lack of innuendo...

GSW is fun to watch, David Lee is really good around the basket even tho the guy is only like 6ft7. He did look really good yestarday, Warriors were missing him last season with against the Spurs. Warriors are NOT better without Lee. I watched 70 something Warriors games last season, I know how important Lee is to the Warriors, Harrison Barnes CANNOT play a full season at the PF spot. He can play some games and minutes depending on teams/lineups.

Off topic: Klay Thompson went off for 38 points.

Lee is a great rebounder, has a good mid range shot, decent FT shooter. If he was a Rocket, you guys would be obsessed with him - saying he's a borderline superstar. But since he's not a Rocket, we have to listen to how he's not that good because his defense is bad.

Hey now....over half the BBS ripped into Kevin Martin when the guy was a 24ppg scorer. Don't say we don't criticize our own stars. No one said Martin was a superstar.

Same applies to David Lee. He is "Fool's Gold" just like Kevin Martin. Sounds like you haven't watched him play much. He's nothing but a Fantasy League Player. Do not underestimate how much people on the bbs will abuse a Rockets player who plays zero defense.

In real life, he's a minus player. Even GSW rebounds better with him off the court than on it.

Okay I agree with you there! That's a good point!

However I don't agree with David Lee being an empty player. He's hard nosed and can stretch the floor, he's a good fit for GSW

You have it backwards. You mean GSW is a good fit for Lee. Trust me. Go to google and do a search for this.

golden state plays better without lee

Lee, like Martin, isn't a good fit for anyone, especially when you measure him against his contract.

You obviously don't watch the warriors play, don't just look at stats, he's the only guy who can score inside consistantly and get the the foul line now that J. Jack is gone. The way they were winning last season without Lee was banking on their outside shooting, and once spurs figured out to close out on their shooters and make them attack/drive in, it was pretty much over. And the rebounding being better, I don't buy into that, their pace of the might have been faster so more shots and rebounds. Bogut and Lee are hands down their best rebounders.

I don't want to google "golden stat plays better without lee".. there's also articles and "stats" out there that claim Kobe is better than Jordan and Duncan is better than Olajuwon.

I think we can agree to disagree.

I'll give you this those: Like Kevin Martin, Lee is someone you don't want to build around. But he is a good piece to the team.

Did I like KMart as our #1 option? Hell no! Would I mind him being on this team right now as a #3? Sure! He's perfect for that specific role!

Build a team around David Lee = fail

Have him as one of your many pieces = can be successful
