One other thought: I wonder if we should stick Howard on Shawn Marion with Parsons guarding Dirk. Seems to make more sense. Marion is a less threatening shooter and does most of his work around the basket with little cuts and flip shots. He is also a bit too strong for Parsons to guard sometimes.[/QUOTE] This is absolutely the thing we should be doing!it's pretty obvious, I wonder if McHale will get the memo:(

Mavericks' Mark Cuban: Dwight Howard's 'mistake' - joining Rockets - is what young kids do, and 'I hope they suck'

    http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/da...king-a-mistake-in-judgment.ece?nclick_check=1

Mark Cuban has opinions to burn and the heat got aimed at Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets on Thursday.
The Mavericks’ opponent Friday in Houston was not the right choice for No. 1 summer free agent Dwight Howard to make, Cuban said.
“Obviously, he made a mistake in judgment,” Cuban said with a laugh when asked if he could blame the 6-11 center for choosing young James Harden and the Rockets over older Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks. “Do I blame him? No, that’s what young kids do. They make mistakes in judgment.”
Cuban also said that he thinks that sometimes free agents make the mistake of believing that every player who is on the team they select will be there for the long haul. That’s not always the case, he said.
“You choose teams,” Cuban said. “You don’t choose players. If he made a choice off of an individual player, yeah, he made a mistake. You choose teams. You choose organizations. You choose coaches. And it’s just not relative to Houston. That’s just the way I look at it, because if he’s that good, then the right organization … Put aside Dwight. Any young superstar looking to make a move, if you’re that good, then the right organization gets all the right pieces around you.
“So it’s not about, you’d rather play with this guy. If you’re that good and you have [salary cap] flexibility, the right organization will put the right pieces around you and get you there.”
Cuban did not want to rehash the summer meeting that the Mavericks had with Howard during the free-agency wooing period. He preferred to stick with what he knows – and that’s that the Mavericks aren’t exactly bankrupt in the talent department even though Howard chose the south end of Interstate 45.
He sees Monta Ellis and Jose Calderon as pretty darn good consolation prizes.
So he doesn’t have any ill feelings?
“None,” Cuban said. “Not even a little bit, because I think we came out pretty good. If we were stuck, then maybe. But like I say about every other team, I hope they suck. I say that every year. It’s nothing personal. I still like Dwight as a person. But I still want the Rockets, like every other team, to have a horrible season. It’s nothing personal. I just want them to suck.”
Cuban says that about every team in the NBA not named the Mavericks.
But it’s still funny when he trots that line out.

    It's the Delfino effect.

The Rockets are at their best offensively when there's a good 3P shooter on the wing for Harden to kick out to.

Everyone talks about adding a star PF, but Parsons can be good enough there. Add another versatile guy at SF with better 3P shooting like Gordon Hayward and very good becomes amazing.

Bev, Harden Hayward, Parsons, Howard would be a killer lineup.

Hayward was bricking wide open 3 pt shots and lay ups all over the place against the Thunder last night. If he could've just a few of those the Jazz would've pulled off the upset.

Rockets’ offensive rhythm returns day after sluggish showing in season opener: Coach Kevin McHale and the Rock... http://t.co/yS2ZHxfJHB

Kinda funny how certain players don't practice now all of a sudden the offense back running right????? we'll duhhhh Mchale you had one of the best offenses in the league last year the real run and gun the league al talked about teams could hang with that, our disadvantage was defense when asik was out the game, u signed HOWARD that fixed that problem !! If the offense wasn't broke why fix it ??!!!!

Before the Cuban comments I thought there was a chance Rockets would come out slow and sluggish like last night but now I think Harden and Howard and the rest of the team will be up eyes wide open for this game ...and IF we do blow them out we can all thank Cuban!

maybe we'll see Ronnie Brewer to guard Monte Ellis.

I happen to think our offensive sluggishness had a lot to do with Harden missing his shots early and the Bobcats' improved defense.

we'll definitely play better vs. DAL. The DH-Asik combo may not work as well. I would like to switch Asik to Dirk and leave DH to patrol the paint and terrorize their guards.

Morey should pan their cartoon video presentation to Dwight. Isn't that (cartoons) what young kids do?

To Cuban: "too late, we got him ... move on. Comments like yours will only fuel Howard's resolve to kick butt this season"

Rockets win 117-113. Dwight takes it easy on his buddy Mark Cuban and only goes for 21-16. Terrence Jones looks good in limited minutes.
