Yes because every one of his career's 3PT shots have been contested until today when he shot all of them wide open. For a guy like McRoberts to take a 3 I'm sure he would have to be damn near wide open. That being said I think shooting 3/4 for one night is not some huge fluke for a 32% career shooter.
That's going to be the response with most of the teams we face. You might see NJ going in with KG and Lopez, maybe Indiana and Miami. Not many teams have the muscle or balls to go against DHASIK together.
Asik is a hell of a lot more valuable, even in this limited role, than DMo or Jones. I was laughing like a mad man last night when they were taking turns on the court. The defensive nightmare for opposing players never ended. And while the offense didn't look good with them on the court together last night, it also didn't look good with just one of them. We had a couple nice stretches at the end of the 2nd and the 4th quarter, but most of the night our offense was sloppy no matter who was out there. Give it time.
100% agreed! In fact take our shooting woes from yesterdays game (with or w/o TT in there) and imagine it would have been last season Are you (going to the TT hater fraction) really going to argue, that we would have had the smallest chance to beat them, let alone come away with a 10+ W? On top of that, don't you realize, that both DH AND Omer really are not in shape on the offensive end..how many passes slipped to DH12's hands or were turned over poorly and Omer was never THAT bad on offense since his rookie year in Chicago. Both of them will get hugely better in time when they shake off the last bits of rust coming from their injuries and get acustomed to this new style of play. How good did the big 3 in Miami meshed in their first season? Can you really compare their first year and their current play? Lastly i think ppl should stop to bring up always the same arguments against the TT lineup like:'' ZOMG all of these stretch 4's are gonna eat us alive!!!!??'' First of all, like others pointed out, how many stretch 4's are out there, who could beat us on their own, especially in a 7 game series? Which team outside of Dallas won with a system like that in the po's? Mind you Dirk is putting up some great numbers atm but Dallas definitely won't be any major factor come post season. some will argue Miami can beat us going small, yet they ignore the fact, that they historically had the most problems with teams featuring strong, physical bigs who outrebound and outmuscle them on the inside and preventing them to have easy layins or dunks. Make Lebron, Wade and Allen beat you on the outside, trust me they won't beat us only with jumps shots and if they do they won't do it 4 out of 7 times, just no way. my 2 cents sorry for the long post
There's also the fact that if we want to contend for championship, we absolutely need someone else who can play the five (especially defensively) before even thinking about trading Omer. Let's say we trade Asik for picks (as per DaDakota's idea). Then Dwight gets hurt and misses 30 games and we are forced to go with D-Mo or Smith at the 5. How many games are we going to win from those 30? Ten games? That might mean losing the home court advantage or even barely missing the playoffs. If we still had Asik, we probably lose a couple of games more but stay still firmly in the playoff picture and we don't have to rush Dwight back like the Lakers did last year.
