[ClutchFans] Rockets to begin season with Beverley, Asik as starters; Jeremy Lin off bench

Am I missing something????... did the team not just win a physically brutal game in which half of the team spent half of the game in the training room, Dwight had a career performance, and Lin played exceptionally well???

Delusional fan-base is delusional.

 

Dwight was his old self, Garcia went off, Lin played great and we gutted out a tough win. Even as annoying as LOFs are, I wasn't expecting to log in and see complaining when both we won and he played well. They take stupidity to a whole different level

 

I guess this is something Lin fans are concerned about. Not so much for Rockets fans.

Whatever. We won the game, so I'm happy.

 

It's really only a small fractional of Lin's fan base that is so delusional. It's just unfortunate that a small group of pro-Lin posters and a small group of rabid anti-Lin posters that formed in reaction have had such an outsize impact on the atmosphere at ClutchFans.

Lin fans will only be happy if Lin starts and gets to take 20 shots a game. This will never happen on a team with Harden and Howard. Deal with it and stop whining on our Rockets board.

Lin isn't a superstar savior, he's an average point guard in the most stacked position in the league and he's being relegated to his role because that's where his talent level is. There is no injustice. If he was better he'd be given a bigger role and more shots.

McHale doesn't hate Lin. Rockets don't hate Lin. Lin isn't the best player in the world. Stop crying.

 

The rockets won, i dont care if lin played all 48 minutes or none at all. We won, thats all that matters.

 

How about root for the front of the jersey and not the back?

Why dont save your critique for when we lose a game. Then you can talk about how if Lin started we would win all 82 games.

Lin is the 6th man....deal with it....he gave us 16 points off the bench along with Garcia and we won.... what is the problem???????????

I can only add one observation. Some new threads started by the so-called "Lin fans" are not necessarily started by Lin Fans.

 

Lin is 25 years old, undrafted, well paid, extremely popular and the sixth man on a team that can contend for a title for the next 4 years....Uhhh I think he's doing just fine. Everyone's minutes on the team will be reduced because of the team's talent level. Its about winning a title not trying cowtow to some legacy of Lin, Harden, Asik or Howard. Titles cement legacy not how many points you score.

 

To me, the 6th man is not the one who comes in first or plays the most minutes, but the one who performs best off the bench. So as long Lin plays well he will be the 6th man.

Does it really matter? I think it's a good thing if lin isn't a starter, he will be fresher during the long grind of the season. And who is the real winner here? I believe bev gets paid $800,000 a year to be a workhorse while lin is getting what $8million a year to chill and come off the bench? Lin has it made...

 

I don't disagree with this statement, but it's ironic that the same can be said for Beverley (minus the undrafted/well paid part).

All Lin has done is improve his game in all aspects. I'd like to see these "Rockets Only Fans" calling for Beverley to be benched when he doesn't avg 13/6 and has a PER of "only" 15.

 

More than half of the posts on this page are complaining/criticizing so-called LOF. It goes so in many of such threads. Ironically, none of the post on this page is even remotely close to what some "right" fans described as LOF stance - "we just want Lin to log mins and pad stat sheets, couldn't care less about Rockets win".

It's been quite obvious to me, even in last night's game thread, Lin doesn't need so-called LOF, even fans of Lin don't need so-called LOF. But a small group of chest-pounding-slogan-shouting-self-claimed-Team-only-Fan, really need "LOF", this often straw-man target, to showcase their "righteousness", on a message forum.

 

Just create a sub forums for Lin fans. It's what the Jet forums did for Tebow. If you guys think that Lin fans are bad, you should have trolled the Jet forums. Really great entertainment though.
