If Dwight is healthy all year, he WILL be the Rockets MVP and a candidate for league MVP. I doubt he wins though unless the Rockets finish with the first or second best record in the league (which probably won't happen).

I think Howard's numbers will be better than Harden's by the end of the season.

I dont see why you're doubting them having a top record in the league. It's entirely possible that they can have the best record. They can go toe to toe with the best teams.

Problem will be him and harden will both be top 10 candidates. Lebron was able to do it with wade, but Lebron is in his own league.

MVP is only given to a player from a team with the highest winning percentage.

So what if this team proves to not drop the easy games like in the past while being able to beat the best teams? They can probably end up with the best record.

I think for the most part the youth on our team will help us from getting complacent when playing against the worst teams in the league.

If Rockets end up being a contender, YES.

It will be difficult unless he establishes himself as the clear number one on the team. Harden could get more of the credit according to a lot of the voters.

no way can he get MVP.

It's LeBron, Durant, Rose, or Paul. Harden doesn't have a chance even as he is not going to put up gaudy numbers anymore now that we have Dwight and our offensive pace will slow.

Dwight Howard's rebound numbers would be more this season than any of his season if they play with Twin Towers match up. With that being said I think he has chance of being an MVP if he remains approx 16 points and 18 rebounds.
    Reasons:
    1) Asik and Dwight are boxing out the opponents
    2) Teams would just give up because we have 2 centers fighting for rebounds
    3) We have a fast paced game, most of the teams we face would try and get back as fast as they can
    4) Dwight against Asik fighting for the rebound. Dwight would win

Howard will lack the scoring necessary, as Harden will average more points. Generally the MVP from 2-star teams have a clear #1 vs. #1A. The Rockets do not. Advanced metrics that include defense likely favors Howard, while traditional stats likely favor Harden.

If we win a championship. It would be the same situation in the Lakers. Their MVP would Kobe and Shaq. Ours would be Harden and Dwight.

Of course he can get MVP.

If we go 60+ wins, who is going to get most of the credit for the improvement?

He could easily win DPOY. He won't win MVP unless his post game takes a quantum leap. That becomes possible with the coaches here, but still not likely.

Its too early to tell, Dwight maybe...Harden? I would like to see his D improved and TO reduced first

I do. I think they realize that they don't need all the regular season wins and will rest their stars much more than in years past. (D-Wade sitting out 2nd game of season, for example). I think the Bulls and Pacers are younger and will get the 1-2 seeds. I see Miami as a 3, but once the playoffs start, they will still be the favorite to come out of the East.

At his point in his career, I don't think the stats matter that much. I think Dwight will be judged by how much the team improves since I am not entirely clear how much footage the voters actually watch.

Because Lebron and Durant have been putting up ridiculous numbers in recent years, I think it is unlikely, since he's not the number one offensive option and playing with Asik should (eventually) reduce his rebound numbers. He'll be a candidate though.
