At this stage of their career, who would you rather have, Anthony Davis or Dwight Howard? Keep in mind the age (AD is 20 and Dwight is 27) as well as potential (AD has a ton of potential, and Dwight doesn't have much remaining).

Am I crazy for choosing Anthony Davis over Dwight Howard? AD also has a nice outside jump shot that is only going to improve. I dunno, tell me what you guys think.

Since our team is in win-now mode, and as currently constructed, I'd take Dwight, and try to move Asik for another piece.

Davis though would be a very solid piece with Asik at C.

I think a front court of Davis/Asik is better than a front court of Asik/Howard - AD can play both PF and Center comfortably. Can't say the same about Howard.

Howard is the better player obviously. Going forward I would choose Davis. He has potential to be a top 3 player in this league.

My problem with Davis is he may not have the body type to withstand being a center long term, he seems to have a KG-like body structure which is better suited for PFs. Maybe he can bulk up but it might also lead to him becoming injury prone.

AD looks nice, but I'd prefer Derrick Favors or that guy the Pistons drafted. IMHO those two are gonna be the future of the center spot.

If your team is a contender, it's clearly Dwight. For the long-term, I'd still take Dwight because AD may never reach his potential due to injuries.

But I hope AD breaks out. Really rooting for the guy.

I wouldn't consider us in "win-now".. that would be more like the Nets

We are certainly built to win right now, but we have a star to build around for years (Harden)

A healthy Dwight makes your team a contender. Sorry I would take Dwight. AD may turn out to be the next Duncan, but that is a big if.

Long-term, Davis, He has all the makings to be something special. Not just on defense but offensively as well. It isn't even close to me. If I were in a situation where I was in a win-now mode with a short several year window, I would go with Dwight 10/10 times.

    Davis is a PF, not a C

Anthony Davis looks injury prone if you ask me. Then again, I would have said Garnett looked injury prone early in his career. Guess I was wrong on that one.

Dwight all the way. Dwight is better now and quite possible the next 5-7 years. Davis have the potential to be a top 3 c/pf, Dwight is already the best C.

I still don't understand why Rockets fans always feel the need to rate their players against other players in the nba.

hehehe Patrick Beverly vs Westbrook, who would you rather have? Asik vs Marc Gasol, which player is better. Parsons vs Paul George, which player is better? Is Harden the best sg in the league? heheheheh

Maybe because this is a Rockets forum where we talk and compare OUR players?

At least it's better than proclaiming Rudy Gay is going to be on Durant's level. Or Mike Conley is an elite PG in the NBA. What's next? Quincy Pondexter will lead the Grizz to the promised land?

Is the grass always greener on the other side? No. We HAVE DH12. Be grateful for that folks.

Question is who do I pick as of right now? Dwight all day.

Who would you want to start a team with building for the future? AD all day. Dwight has a 5 year window basically. AD has a 10-15 year window

Anthony Davis has a higher ceiling. I would take him. I think by the end of this year Davis could be as good as Dwight
