It didn't, even garbage Bobcats players outscored us in the paint. Like wtf? Two great defensive players, many turnovers, many missed FT's, and lost the paint to Bobcats, who even don't have good rebounders.
I like em both, but would trade Asik for some future picks or a good stretch 4. Look at the offense tonight with them together...yuck. We are still solid with only one of them on the floor at a time, IMO. DD
More like 3 heads and a 1/2. Omer with three and howard with a half head. i think the offense sucked because the ball wasn't moving, nothing to do with them. FTs, whole different story. come on, all we're asking for is 60% from the ft line. So the opposition scored 3 three pointers from spreading howard, still doesn't compared to the number of shots both altered.
The offense was bad even without TT. No ball movement. We scored our points mostly off of isolations. Even with Lin in the lineup Harden was the point guard. What gives?
McHale should have experimented with Lin playing with the starting unit so we don't have this kinda offense.
im fine with letting the offense catch up with the D. im chalking this up to an off night offensively, the shots were there.
Teams will figure out they don't have to double Howard, and can leave Asik alone and guard Howard, our PG, and Parsons on the perimeter to give us trouble. I hope Morey trades Asik - but it might be a while. DD
DD already said he'd trade Asik for "future draft picks or a stretch 4". I bet he considers the injured Ryan Anderson that stretch 4 to take us to the promised land. Doesn't look like DD's in a win now mode.
I thought the Bobcats played some pretty good defense most of the night. The Rockets were not able to run often. In the few fast break opportunities they did get , the lead was built. Maybe they played down to the level of the Bobcats ... the offense was somewhat sloppy , shooting was poor. A couple other teams played down to the competition tonight and came away losers (Miami losing to Philly ??).
Sure I am in win now mode - but I don't think Asik makes that much of a difference over even TJones or Dmo overall... To me he is an expensive luxury, and frankly a lousy offensive player, so you get what you can for him before his value drops due to Howard being here the whole year. I think you win, and develop, anyone recall a rookie PG named Cassel or a 2nd year PF/SF 3pt shooter named Horry? You need a mix, IMO. DD
Maybe Ryan Anderson and two first rounders It it doesn't work out in a month or two. Ryan Anderson is not much better than Casspi or Garcia.
Yeah that double-headed monster showed up a lot tonight when we kept trying to play everybody but a PF at the PF position. Teams will continue to do the same all season. Lets hope McHale can keep up with everybody else this time. I doubt it.
dude twin towers had 40 rebounds. What are you expecting? also had 11 offensive rebounds. Simply put, rebounds are not sexy.. but needed on a night like tonight where our offense was sort of sputtering. This team without dwight and asiks rebounds and you are talking a close game vs. 13 point fairly easy win. Its the little things like rebounds that you notice on a box score but you dont notice in game so much. It aids you when the team is not really firing.It gives you an extra 13 points cushion. Its those extra possessions and those extra everythings that come from rebounds. Rebounds is your friend and you want to shun it. dont understand that mindset compadre.
Dude?? They didn't get all of those rebounds on the floor together. Both players rebounding were best when the other was not on the floor.
