Who knows exactly what Mchale has in his mind. Sometimes what comes from his mouth could be very misleading.

I am wondering what is next?

Bev is still the starting PG? The offense looked terrible in the first QT when Harden and Parsons were not willing to share the ball and Bev can't create.

Offense looked terrible and Bev got burned by Kemba.

Sorry but that could've been a fluke. Need about 10 more games of that for McHale to even consider changing lineups again.

But a couple of bad post season games from Lin last season after he was injured was enough for McHale to bench Lin.

    .

Bev got injured so hope he recovers fully.

Lin played great tonight. Whether as a starter or as a spark from the bench I think Lin will play well this season (barring injury).

And that worked out swimmingly well versus Charlotte didn't it? Thank god McHale did not play Howard and Asik more what nine or so minutes together. And Bev? Sorry when the regular season smacks you right upside the head ...

lol 6 playoff games where Bev averages 11 pts, 3 assists on 43% and a couple preseason games were enough to give him the nod.

Bev is hurt, Lin should start in his place, and if things go well , then no need to fix it.

If the roles were reversed and Lin got hurt in the rib and Bev came in and the Rockets won you'd be calling for him to start would you not?

I'll always think the offense will be better with lin rather than bev but tonight wasn't bevs fault. I dont see any point guard making the TT offense look good, just look at lin and hardens assists. The question is if you do end up taking Asik out of the starting lineup, do you still start Pat?

    Parsons 4/11 0/3 from3 10pts
    harden 7/16 1/6 from3 21pts
    Lin 5/7 2/2 from3 16pts

*Lin good game he played it smart tonight didn't force nothing but still want to see more shots go up if they are falling, he should be able to have the green light too, but don't blame him for not trying to mess nothing up*

The starting lineup change was so bizarre and so un-necessary. It is the weirdest lineup change in recent years.

Your starter came back to camp stronger, improved his shooting, defense and everything and yet he had a demotion waiting for him as a reward.

It also put McHale himself and Bev in a must-do-well situation.

And Beverley is a good player, don't give me wrong. But his playing style is not sustainable for a whole season, at least not for a starter. I can't see any starters are capable to play all-out defense 30 mins a game for 82 games. I thought it was pretty obvious.

this... start lin and put casspi or dmo as starter. offense will flow much better. asik and bev will wreck havoc as defensive sparks.

No way Lin will be inserted back into the starting lineup or Mchale will become a laughing stock in the NBA.

    Deal with it.

    +1

He actually plays just as well as a starter. The problem is, the Spurs only won one championship after he came off the bench.

That's the "energy" that people seem to like about Bev. However, that adrenaline needs to be gauged properly or else it's just going to come out as foul-trouble, injuries etc. Lin looks noticeably much more relaxed, probably because of his experience as a starter.

I don't get the swap of Bev and Lin in the lineup either. Neither of them did anything to warrant the change. Bev wasn't exceptional and Lin wasn't bad. By doing the change now McHale is going to have to stick with it for a bit even if it doesn't work out.

Manu had by far the best season of his career off the bench.

Spurs only won one championship after he came off the bench because the team got old.
