He is right. This team can play much better offensively. Defensively, they are pretty much set.

first Q they were trying something that been proven fail in last season's losing streak, it's ugly and stupid basketball, not gonna give them a free pass for falling in the same **** hole.

nice adjustment after the timeout and had everyone did what they are best at and not trying beyond their ability, the team started to click. chandler still tried too much a bit in the 3rd Q but soon recognize not working, then quickly settled down. defense is good all game except twin tower got burnt by stretching 4s that's expected and coach need to adjust quicker than they did in this game.

overall a nice win and what really precious is, even they are the bobcats they still give us a hammer in the head warning what works for us and what doesnt. preseason doesnt mean **** because opponent's defense intensity is not there, when it comes to real deal we can see how important ball movement is, no matter who you are violating basic basketball principles you got beat by even the worst team in the league.

ok, guys take easy. do i agree with mchale on starting bev? no. but it is his decision. i live with his decision. he should stick with his decision. this is just one game. making a change just after one game sounds ridiculous. i won't suggest him to change. i don't think he will change.

How about Asik to guard the stretch 4?

We had to sub him out because DH was forgetting McRoberts could shoot the 3.

Anyway I think Asik was happy tonight, seeing that he could impact the game in a positive way even with Dwight ahead of him.

We need Asik for when DH gets into foul trouble and gets sore from being hammered all the time.

McHale doing a good job so far of keeping those two happy.

First week or so the players are getting over their rust. The shooting percentages and the lack of rhythm is to be expected.

In other news: First win baby!!

That offense was ugly, but Dwight was dominant defensively. We haven't had 48 minutes of rim protection with Yao and Deke were healthy.

Garcia was great tonight. Was the only spark in the first half along with Lin. Lin played well and kept Kemba in check after his hot start. Harden played like ass in the first half, but he and Howard played like stars in the 4th. Exactly how you would want your stars to finish games. Parsons shot was off, but he was at least trying to make things happen. Hope Bev is ok.

McRoberts dropped 15 on us and Taylor 14

and yet we came out in double digits
we gotta give Motiejunas and Jones more minutes, otherwise no offense there

luckily, mchale didn't bench harden due to his poor first half in a way he used to do to lin.

asik would be good vs memphis, spurs, etc, but horrible against teams like twolves and mavs where love and dirk would have a field day vs dwight at pf who doesn't like to go beyond the paint to guard the perimeter bigs.

I think lin gets a bad rep defensively from the head ophthalmologist. the good pgs are almost impossible to defend just because of the sets with screens master head coaches use. You can stop them by putting lebron on them, taking out their knees or hoping they miss after their pf knocks knocks you 3 ft out of the way.

The "On the ball defense" means little at the pg spot but it does look like you're giving more effort. But there is a reason no one runs a full court press for 40+ a game, which is what ophthalmologists everywhere are basically expecting from Bev. A one man full court press. It's just impossible.

that said, Lin needs to come off the bench. It's the best for everyone involved. Even if Bev doesn't go out and lin's chin doesn't bleed, lin was headed for 34 minutes.
the eye test taketh but it also giveth.

tonight, I was most impressed with garcia. wow a change in scenery brought his career back to life and beyond.

Crazy how D-Mo didn't see any playing time. Casspi made a hell of a debut during preseason and stole McHales heart.

Look for T-Jones to barely have any playing time. D-Mo will play when Casspi is having a bad game.

Lin is amazing off the bench.

Harden and Howard and spreadin the floow like bread and butta. It's beautiful.

Parsons had an off game BUT his D was great as usual. Batter 3.0.

Mavs played well tonight. WILL be fun game this friday. Ellis/Jose/Dirk is an interesting combo they got going.

    Gooooooooooooooo rockets! ;)

I dunno about that, Casspi had a terrible game but he was allowed to eat up 20 minutes being a waste of space.

I agree, we need to allow are real pf to get some playing time. Hopefully after this first game they can get some playing time. I would like to see DMo get some playing time so he can post up some, the more different type of scoring options we have the better.

Lin played great and as you heard, mchale said the offense sucked in the first quarter which was when Bev was running the show.

I say they ride and die with Lin.

    Parsons 4/11 0/3 from3 10pts
    harden 7/16 1/6 from3 21pts
    Lin 5/7 2/2 from3 16pts

*Lin good game he played it smart tonight didn't force nothing but still want to see more shots go up if they are falling, he should be able to have the green light too, but don't blame him for not trying to mess nothing up*
