That's a flat-out lie. And none of those people had the plans they are going to lose as of March 2010.

That is a huge distinction. FYI I have an individual plan and am not losing my coverage. Although the premium is going up a bit.

I can understand that but that doesn't mean it wasn't a big mistake to make such an unequivocal statement as "If you like your plan you will be able to keep it."

That is the type of statements that we take people to task here even on Clutchfans for good reason.

I've noticed a trend in bitter old conservatives using popular jargon from 20 years ago. Whats up with that? SIKE!

So, 50-75% of 14 million, on the high side, is 11 million people. That means that we are talking about an absolute maximum of 3.5% of Americans.

    Talk about lies.

Are u agreeing Obama lied? I am confused by your statement. Obviously the number will be way higher then 11 milion once the employee mandate kicks in too.

The more the GOP struggles to deny folks healthcare the more America wins.

Many of these folks with the practically bogus cheapo policies that have high deductibles and cover little that are not allowed any more will be grateful when they actually have real insurance for a health problem.

True story. One of my wife's relatives works as am echanic at a prominent auto dealelrship in Houston. He liked his insurance fine. A young family w. 4 kids. No claims. His five year old needed a hernia surgery. Bingo. $5k out of his pocket. He had a $5 k deductible per family member.

To say the least he was unhappy. So unhappy that he voted for Obama instead of the Repubs. Interestingly he and his wife met at the type of Christian church that more or less says Jesus wants you to vote GOP.

C'mon Mark. If a Republican president had said something like that you would be ripping into them.

If you've followed my posts you know I am for the ACA but it's delusional to not acknowledge how much has gone wrong with it and many statements coming from the Obama Admin..

This is not true. Certain parts of Obamacare apply regardless of whether the plan is/was grandfathered. As a result, plans had to change somewhat at a minimum and rates went up. The rates going up forced people to make changes that cost them their grandfathered status.

This is only in some scenarios of course.

More comprehensive, but certainly not cheaper.

Mark you are arguing it is okay for a government to lie to its people as long as the government thinks its for their own good. Do you realize how disgusting that is? Why would you even bother calling yourself an American with such an attitude?

You are representing the mind set of pretty much every villainous politician in every movie.

Just out of curiosity rj, do you think Obamacare gets passed if Obama says 'millions of you will lose your current plans and most of you will see an increase in your premiums' ?

Umm... That is why I said I still support ACA.

Also while I don't think we should scrap the ACA because of things like this but the online exchange is a very important part of it and also words to matter. Other presidents have been damaged by making statements that just didn't seem credible with reality. We all saw first hand how that worked out for the last Admin.. Acknowledging problems isn't the same as saying you are totally against something.
