    It wasn't obvious:

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=244967

More than half of the respondents to that poll said that Lin would be the starting PG.

And if he did make the decision a while ago but shared this with Jeremy, I don't have an issue with it. There are actually good reasons to keep this decision internal to the team until the season begins. The fanatics on this board talking about boycotting the team make it pretty clear how it could have potentially turned into a distraction during training camp if he chose to publicize it.

There's no "your" Lin or "my" Lin. There's only Rockets' JLin. ;)

so according to Rob Mahoney, Lin sucks at shooting, defense, and can only thrive against reserves.

A while ago could be since the end of pre-season.

McHale experimented alternating starting PGs for a reason, and he certainly wasn't dead set on starting Beverley, because he wanted to find the best fit.

If he did make the decision a while back, I think it'd be better if it was out in the open during preseason, fanatics would have time to adjust. Better to have distraction in the preseason than season opening.

And that means what? Mid-summer? Before preseason? Before the last preseason game? Who knows?

no one knows how many days a while ago means. it could be either way. I just pointed out there is a "a while ago". to insist it happened after preseason has no base unless someone in rox organization states clearly.

It was fun watching Lakers reserves beating the crap out of the clips last night!

Mahoney says, "Beverley — an indisputably more accurate shooter than Lin..." -- pretty shoddy journalism.

Beverley, in a half a season, was a better 3-point shooter than Lin, by a significant margin, though after the all-star game they were even. Lin shoots better from inside the arc, at least according to the stats they've put us this far into their careers.

Beverly did outshoot Lin in the preseason (.500/.500 to .477/.385), but preseason stats aren't conclusive.

Did you just compare Jeremy Lin to two future hall of fame players, who were both faces of a franchise for over a decade?

tell me what "a while ago" means? I just pointed out the fact. do you have any words from someone within our rox organization to indicate it happened after preseason?

    These comparisons are insane.

KG. Paul Pierce. CP3. Deron Williams. Harden. Howard.

Jeremy is nowhere near the caliber of these players. Neither is Beverley. They are both good players, but come on. LOL.

I think when the season start, the focus shifts to how the team is actually doing, and there is proportionately less discussion about who should play and how much.

I don't. But that quote from Lin certainly doesn't prove that McHale was intent on starting Beverley from the very beginning of training camp.

    And it begins.

Lin only thrives against scrubs narrative for the LOH this season and beyond.

I hope so. You're probably right, with regard to the World Outside of ClutchFans, anyway. We are probably way more insane... um, I mean invested, than most.
