Yep totally a fit issue, Beverley being rewarded for being a mediocre point guard that can't lead an offense and being touted as a "defensive" stopper when we all saw him get light up by Reggie Jackson last year in playoffs. Thus Lin gets "promoted" to the bench despite him and Harden being the best starting backcourt in the Nba. It's not like Lin's ability to create offense and being the best interior passer will help players like Dwight and Asik. After all we all know those two are über talented at creating their own shots!

breakout season for LIN im calling it early, as a rockets fans you should be hoping he does, if rockets are successful this season and in the playoffs Lin has to have a good year. 2nd unit & a 2nd playmaker is so important cc the bulls/heat game last night when there best player is on the bench or when he doesn’t have a good game. But at the same time he can play free knowing that fans cant blame him for a loss anymore its on howard and harden now.

Lol it's funny that you call it a breakout season, it should be, 're-breakout' season. Since his break-out already happened once when Linsanity happened. :D

Honestly, i'm just tired of all the back and forth arguments.

If you look at my post history i was pretty silent about the issue, but at some point it just..... you know..... goes into your head.

All this negativity will get the rockets nowhere, especially if stats start to come in and prove or disprove a certain sides argument.

Cant we all just get along? I mean it's the freacking rocketz. Our team. Our players.

Did you even read his post? Or watch the preseason games? Pat played fine with the first team. So did Lin. There was little to no drop off between the two. However the second unit, with Lin, was MUCH better than with Pat. That's because Lin is a better offensive initiator, facilitator. He just cannot do that with the starters because of Howard and Harden. This isn't complicated. I don't think many here are saying Pat is the superior talent to Jeremy. I haven't decided because they're two different types of PGs. It's what fits best for the team. The team. Wins. I know it stings to see your favorite player come off the bench. But would you rather see what's best for the team or what's best for Lin? *spoiler, that might be a trick question*

So Lin can't play his game with Harden and Dwight? I'm so sorry, who lead the the team in assist last year? Oh yeah Lin. Who had a better assist to turnover ratio between Harden and Lin? Oh yeah Lin and he did it with a smaller usage rate. So don't give me this garbage about fit.

I think his point was he is more valuable to the second unit. He can play in both first and second units but has more impact on the second unit.

I would be nice if the coach says that. Don't understand why it is so hard to say that instead making people feel like it is a competition between the two point guards.

I really don't understand where "fit" comes in since Harden will get 35+ minutes anyways. Harden and Lin can stagger their minutes and still produce the same result with Lin starting.

This is more experimentation by a coach who still has doubts about his rotation. I respect McHale as a player but many of his decisions as coach are really a head scratchers.

Yes, they should charge at least $100 for rights to post. That will get rid of all the poor trash.

Yes. Also making the point that Lin requires the ball in his hands to be effective. He needs to dominate the ball and run the offense. With Howard and Harden on the court he won't get those opportunities. He's turned into a fourth option shooter (which he's still good at). The second unit maximizes his effectiveness and his strengths.

Yes, he could play his game with Harden and Howard. But it would take the ball out of both Harden and Howard's hands. As much as some fans would like to see that I don't agree that it's best for the team. You want your two best players to have the ball the most, right?

Its really simple, you can't just flat out demote last year's starting PG when his stats are great and the replacing starting PG is not better than him. Plus he has a huge fan base in Asia....you know....Rocket's money maker

The haters are never going to be convinced. They thought Machado and Douglas were better. They thought Linsanity was too small a sample size while they thought Beverley's backup minutes against bench players was good enough (don't forget about Russia too!). They thought Lin's first season as a Rocket was a failure because he couldn't lead the 8th seeded Rockets over the most talented team in the Western Conference.

These people need Lin to fail for whatever their own personal reasons are. They're not worth arguing with.

The good news is that Lin is constantly getting better. His shot looks better. He looks stronger and faster. The Dream is singing his praises. He'll rise over his petty haters.

Who said this? He would have had to play to do this.

    Say "haters" again.

People have to remember Beverly is going to have to adjust to being a starter for now. He cannot maintain the same speed/all out hustle he does when he comes in on limited minutes. Otherwise he'll just burn himself out too quickly.

Whether Beverly can adjust quickly or not, either way there's going to be plenty of minutes with or without them on the court together.

Have any of these idiots ever heard of this guy named Manu Ginobili? Guess where he plays better? Off the bench. Manu has consistently been a top SG for the last decade. If he can do it and the spurs can win 4 ships' , then by all means Lin can.

Get your head out of your asses.
