Since we're all getting killed in the NFL (i'm looking at you Tahj Boyd) i wanted to start a thread for NCAA football. Please share your plays and reasoning..... I'll start....I'm taking UNT -9.5 (currently 11.5) @ southern miss I felt much better with this pick before i heard that Southern miss has decided to make a change at QB and start a freshman. Southern miss has lost 18 in a row but the unknown of a freshman QB is making me nervous.
I see. I must have a problem. Anyways, eary look at FL st - Miami line (FL St -22)....I still taking FL St here. Miami is the chiefs of the undefeated College Football teams. FL St. is probably the most complete team in College right now. More so than Alabama.
another early play i like involves 2 Conference USA teams. Marshall home splits are impressive. Southern Miss is still garbage. Look for Marshall to cover the large spread of 28.5 (i'll buy it down to 27.5) @ home.
do not be alarm I have a teaser this weekend of Clemson -3.5 FL St -9 Houston - 4.5 Oregon State +8 The only road team is clemson but they're 0-3 ATS in their last 3 so theyre due to blow someone out. thoughts?
I like it. I expect Fl St and Houston to cover their opening spreads and Oregon State to win. Clemson has bit me a few times this season so I learned my lesson and bet against them vs FL St. I'd like it alot more if you could get Clem -3 but what can you do. Good Luck.
angkor and do not be alarm. I like to set my teasers up all week, this is how im so successful. I find one game that's my lock of the week and then I set up all my teasers around it. For this week my lock is lucky, i have (2) 1. Seahawks -3.5 at home vs bucs w/ backup qb and no doug martin 2. Heat -1.5 tonight @ philly who is the worst team in the league so from there I have 8 teasers with those 2 in every one. The other games I have are 1.UH -4.5 2.Clemson -3.5 3.Florida St -9 4.Houston Texas +15.5 5.Rockets -2.5 tonight 6.Georgia +10.5 @ florida I've learned that clearly no games are locks but if you can get the seahawks at home -3.5 you take it. The Heat are 11 point favorites and I would be stunned if philly can beat them or lose by 2 or less, philly is just lacking talent Honestly of all those, the ones that worry me are in order 1.UH -4.5, UH is 7-0 ATS and they're due not to cover, I don't follow UH football much but are they that good? USF has a very good D from what Im reading, but original line was -10.5 and moved hard so had to take it 2.Rockets -2.5, of course we should kill the bobcats but NBA games always worry me, this will be the last one i bet. Clippers toasted me last night in a few teasers. 3.Florida St -9. I know FSU is beastly but Miami is #7, they could keep it within 10, right? lol
I feel you and i agree that those appear to be locks (especially Seattle @ home) but i just hate hate hate putting the same play in multiple parlays. I haven't been using teasers but I'm going to start know that my book has made it available.
Also, Miami (College FB) is very overrated. I watched them against UNC and Wake and walked away very unimpressed.
oh thanks didn't know miami was overrated, I've seen them play once on national tv since i live in houston and it was vs florida but florida is awful. Their running back duke looked like a beast but you're right FSU is a monster they've been pounding people. So UH -4.5 you like alot then? It just worries me betting on a team thats 7-0 ATS and and then USF is starting a new QB and could motivate them like keenum did for us. Im no UH fan by any means otherwise id have a better perspective. I do know they beat Rice my alma mater who is actually a decent team this year so I guess -4.5 is a good bet
Here is how I do my NFL teasers. I use 6 point teasers on favorites with lines from 7.5 to 8.5, and underdogs with lines from 1.5 to 2.5. This way, I get past the strongest key NFL numbers of 3 and 7
My initial concern with UofH was that they might overlook USF due to the fact that their two biggest test are coming up next (ranked UCF & ranked Lou) but the fact that this game is a national game on Thursday night and the new unis should get the team pumped up. I was skeptical of UofH but the Rutgers game really impressed me. I don't believe its a lock but I would be suprised if UofH doesn't cover -4.5
Posted this over in the UH/USF game thread...just curious of any gambling degenerates over here p) might have any thoughts... My book has the total at 54. Thinking long and hard about taking the over. I can see UH easily dropping a 49 spot...not sure if USF will hold up their end of the bargain. Any thoughts on 54?
USF is terrible on offense, I saw their game vs louisville, but remember they held that monster louisville offense to 31 points......
