I've seen that a number of times here. I used to say something about it, but now more than anything I feel embarrassed for the person making that argument. So I just let them say their stuff, give them a pat on the head, and tell them that they're doing a good job. A real good job.
Did you hear of this thing that happen in NY called Linsanity after the Rockets and other teams released him...I know i wasn't dreaming...who was the coach who thought he wasn't good enough for a roster spot "McHale"...but Aaron Brooks who has lost his game (cut by Sacramento cause Thomas outplayed him) makes this year roster..anybody who thinks Beverley is better than Lin lacks basketball knowledge. How did Flynn, Boykins, Fortson workout for us. If McHale doesn't like you are an outkast...The Rockets would've not played in Manila or Taiwan if Lin wasn't on the team so for you to say that the Rockets was not elevated by Lin is an asinine statement by you and others who believe this. Everybody seen this even when Douglas was here, Lin had a bad pass or a turnover here come Douglas to the scorers table. Why was McHale doing that press conference w/ Lin....maybe to save face that the fact that it could of been a riot in Taiwan if Beverley would have started. There wasn't a need for McHale to be at that table. I'm sorry but the Rockets used Lin to tap back into the Asian market. You see how everybody in New York wanted him back but Melo, J.R. and other players was jealous of his stature. There isnt a trade market for Lin or Asik because the team who trades for them will have to pay 14.5 million next year. If no Lin or Asik no playoffs...would also meant no Howard this year!!! I'm sorry but no one is buying tickets to see Beverley. Lin was 10th in NBA last year w/ 134 steals and Tony Allen who is the best on an off ball defender was 20th w/ 119 steals You guys need to look at the whole body of work instead of flashes Here is to a great and healthy season!!!

If I had known that the person who made this video was a respected poster on this site would I have still bashed him for making this video.... hmmm... not sure... probably not, but I assume with my background I probably would have still been critical. However, that doesn't change the fact its a conservative political talk radio podcast video connecting the dots between Lin and supposed shadiness of the Rockets organization in the handling of him and his fans in the way they speak to the fans through public relations (couldn't really stomach the video so just assuming). Now maybe this is a great piece of work, and maybe its not, but you have to understand that the way this is advertised, its hard to not roll your eyes and laugh. I understand people standing up for a longtime poster on here as they should, but I don't think anyone should be surprised when its met with immediate cynicism.
Have you read some of the comments by some of the ppl here?? You can be critical of someone's views but you don't have to be an immature a** and make it personal by attacking him. Your right, but I'm just saying that if you're taking the posters history out of the equation (you can't assume everyone knows the background of every poster), and just look at the context of a political blog tackling a Lin/racism/media debate nobody should be shocked that people would automatically be cynical right off the bat. Do I need to apologize for bashing a respected poster... maybe I do, but it doesn't change the fact that I probably would rather play golf in lightning than listen to a conservative political blog that attacks the Rockets and the Lin debate. I think you're missing the point. Anyone with an in depth knowledge of bball knows that Lin is the better overall player. I think for the ppl supporting Lin's benching, it's a matter of who's a better fit and maximizing the effectiveness of the team including Lin. It's not that PB is a better overall player.
The Asian community needs to better understand what the term "benching" means then, because this is hardly a benching. His minutes per game will be unchanged from last year. If the "Asian" community can't identify that Beverley and Lin have different skillsets, thens that's THEIR problem, not the Rockets'. However, just for the record, I think you are speaking about your feelings as if it's the Asian community.....I have yet to find substantial evidence that suggests that Asia is turning their backs to the Rockets simply because Lin is now the sixth man.

Personally I don't think its a big deal that he starts on the bench. As many other more knowledgeable posters have pointed out Lin will probably flourish. Our second lineup is good enough to beat the first team of some teams. That is a very solid asset to have! I guess we will see if his actual minutes will get cut or not. If it does then I think most Lin fans have a right to be upset, and I think most Rockets fans should be too, as they should be if the player were any other player not named Jeremy Lin in similar circumstances.
