It would only happen if it was something they couldn't pass up (1st or 2nd round pick). Otherwise, they'll keep battlefightin'.
Prime example of the schaub supporters who are happy being walked on year end and year out. Schaub has done nothing, he put up numbers yes because of the system. Yards passing doesnt mean diddly, tds vs ints and doing what it takes to win games is what counts. Between him and kubiaks playcalling the red zone is the dead zone.
Our defense and o-line better bring it from this sunday on out. Or else not Case, or any QB can help this team rack up points and win/save this season. Hope the football God's are upon Case Keenum and the Texans for the next 9 weeks. Wishin for a Superbowl appearance and a dagger at the history and record books for Keenum takin us there. Let the games begin!
reading this thread on reddit and the consensus there is Derek Newton is the biggest reason for the Texans struggles http://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/1pe8k4/case_keenum_will_start_on_sunday_for_the_texans/
"Moral victories are going to be everywhere, and the entire Texans' coaching staff will get 5 year extensions because we're on the right path!"
"So it begins. This Sunday night the entire world will watch as we make our last ditch effort to be a contender in 2013. Good luck, Case. It's simple; if we don't win Sunday, the season stops being metaphorically over, and starts being really over. The only way to get a playoff spot in our current position is to win out and the Colts are standing in the way. Every win after a loss to the Colts is counter productive."
"This is how I feel mostly, although the "we have to win out" fact isn't too much to get excited about with 9 games remaining. I'm really just glad I don't have to riot, Kubes did the right thing for change."
Some more reddit posts: "The play that really stood out to most people I feel was Keenum's scramble to his right, then cut back to the middle that led to the 42-yard catch by Andre. That was the Texan's longest pass play of the season, and wouldn't have happened with Schaub in the lineup. Schaub's ankle is really a blessing in disguise: He can sit without being "benched" and if Keenum doesn't live up to the hype everyone's putting on him, Schaub can play the hero and make a return to the field with a bad ankle." "I don't think you're right that it wouldn't have happened, but that's another thing entirely. But no, I don't think Schaub can play the hero in Houston again at this point. If there is one reason I do support the decision to start Keenum this week, it's that I think Schaub would be better off starting his next game in an away stadium, where at least he can expect boos rather than being totally demoralized by them. If Schaub has a good game in an away stadium, this is all solved." "Eh... I guess I'm on board with this. It's not too late to make a playoff run if Case catches fire. On the other hand, if he plays poorly, we'll get a good first-rounder. So...yeah, there's my optimistic spin on this one..." "I'm both surprised and relieved. Kubiak still needs to go though." Cardinals fan: "You guys are a serious trap game for us coming off our bye this week. If your o-line can give keenum a few seconds when we blitz then someone will definitely be open downfield and he could air it out all day. Your D could definitely bottle up our offense. We are a good blitzing team but sometimes our blitzes aren't successful but we'll keep doing it and there are wide open spots all over the field."
"To be fair, Schaub is also a known quantity. At least with Case, its a good idea to keep testing him to see what you have. The Bengals tested what they had, and they found Andy Dalton to be a god." Hilarious from a Bengals fan.
I cant post as a link but if someone wants to copy and paste its well worth it. Poor quality but epic call in from Shea in Irving. Typifies my frustration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdZ77hwvMgg&feature=youtube_gdata_player
