Same old Chicago Bulls: One elite scorer surrounded by a bunch of role players and a JVG clone that only knows how to coach one side of the ball.
The Celtics/Bulls d strategy sucks without its anchor, the Celtics were lousy when KG was out, the Bulls got this super d rep from having Noah and Asik, their bench sucked without Asik last year too.
Xavier Henry played very well in several preseason games as well. I'm going all-in on the guy... just picked him up on my fantasy team. Always gotta be ahead of the curve.
Yes, he will. I'm wondering how chaotic it's gonna get in Clipperland. The story that just recently ran about Sterling nixing the Bledsoe/Dudley trade before Doc kinda strong-armed him.....that's not good. But it's typical Sterling. There is the possibility that Sterling could quick-fire Doc and clear out Paul if he doesn't like Paul and Doc running him. There is also the possibility that Sterling overrides Doc and Paul, takes control of the organization and makes some bone-headed move that forces Doc to resign and get CP3 to ask for a trade. I am waiting and watching that situation. Sterling is one of the worst (if not the worst) team owners on professional sports history. I'm convinced it's not going to work for very long. I think CP3 is gonna be pissed, pissed, pissed by the middle of the season and I think it is well within the realm of possibility that Sterling flushes Doc and then moves out a cantankerous Paul instead of moving one or both of Blake and DeAndre. The odds of things working out and running smoothly in Clipperland are minuscule.
The key to that win was Farmar/Blake/Nash running the offense and sharing the ball. Lakers won that game DESPITE Nick Young throwing up a bunch of crap. The Lakers would be better served to keep playing with their point guards (all of them great shooters) controlling the ball and running the team. That's why the bench unit gelled so well. When Kobe comes back he would be best served and the team would be better if he allowed Nash or Farmar or Blake to control from the top and he play off the ball. However, I don't see that happening.
Henry is only 22, he probably came out of college too soon. And then he was put in 2 very bad situations with the grizzlies and the hornets/pelicans. If he realizes his talent now it would be bittersweet for grizzlies fans.
LMAO Lakers won? Clippers were up by 7 when I turned of the TV last night! WTF? This is the same Lakers team that is suppose to be a lottery team right?
I liked the way they played. Establish pau early and then push the tempo and hit 3s. I know Houston hates LA but I honestly think they're going to be better than advertised.
I wanted Henry since the draft. Thought he had a lot of skill but yes, still raw. Hope he does well for LA. Would have been a great backup for Harden but we can't get players to choose little Houston instead of LA.
I watched only the highlights, but liked what I saw. Too bad Kobe will put an end to teamplay when he comes back. D'Antoni should take a page out of McHale's book on how to successfully bench a player with high salary...
The current Lakers are what the Rockets were 2 yrs ago. I see them as a good non-playoff team that can beat any NBA team any given night but slightly not making the playoffs.
