Yes, they definitely should aim to upgrade this. Although if DJ can keep the energy he's shown in the first month of the last two seasons, it helps a lot. I think the Clippers need to play at a much faster pace to minimize their big problem.
I'm shocked! I expected the opposite outcome. But tonight, the Clippers played bad, the Lakers starters played so so, but the Lakers bench were outstanding. Now 1 game doesn't a season make. The Clippers are under a new coach & it's going to take a while them to get used to Doc. But I don't think they're top 3 in the West. It'll be interesting, since we play the Clips twice in the 1st 10 games.
Pau is still underrated. Kobe apparently mindcontrolled Xavier Henry for one game, wtf. Clippers just got torched by the Lakers bench. THE LAKERS. BENCH. Hahaha oh god this team is so overrated. Horrible interior defense. Just horrible.
The Rockets will not allow open 3s like the Clippers because we have paint defense. The #1 concern coming in for the Clippers was how their big men defense would be. And as it turns out, Doc Rivers doesn't seem to be the reason why the Celtics D were so good.
Blake really needs to step it up. 40+ minutes and you get 7 rebounds with 2 that came to you by a lucky bounce. With all the athleticism, it seems to be going by the wayside when it comes to capping off a defensive possession. The 3 pointer is really the ultimate equalizer. This also got me wondering how Kobe will integrate himself with what the Lakers got. (Not getting ahead of myself, I still don't think the Lakers will be good or a playoff team, competitive yes so they will try for a spot but not good.)
Knee-jerk much? They shot 48% from 3. How many games do you see them accomplish that? I guess Clippers underestimated them, plus city rivalrly motivated Lakers. There is no chance in hell Lakers make the playoffs this year.
Agreed, tonight wasn't about Lakers being better than expected, it was about the Clippers and Doc Rivers being overrated.
