I'm pretty sure both Cuban and Morey have a decent idea as to what each other is up to judging by their talks at the Sloan Conference. No doubt there are a few things that they do differently, but I doubt it's anything that major.
Rosas: Mark, have you considered sending Dirk to Houston for a package built around Asik? Cuban: No. Rosas: We're going nowhere with an aging superstar. If we are ever going to rebuild, the 2014 draft class is the one worth tanking for. Cuban: How odd. I see your lips moving, but I'm hearing only Daryl's words coming out of your mouth. Rosas: ... Cuban: Are you sure you're off the Rockets' payroll? Rosas: I've decided it's time for us to part ways, Mark. As friends.
Cuban will become the Al Davis of that club. If it weren't for Dirk they be nothing. Dirk dragged them to a title.
This makes no sense. I always though Rosas knew he was only getting the title of the GM and not the reality of the GM. Especially since the Mavs did their offseason signings BEFORE he was there. And that they have a nosy owner and that his predecessor became his boss. I wonder what the interview was like that made both Cuban believe Rosas was willing to be a puppet, and Rosas believe Cuban would actually let him run the team.
btw I love that show. Shark Tank one of my few shows that I actually record. back on topic. I Hope we can get Rosas back.
Do you know what the Rockets paid them? Do you know they were not offered a raise? I know in the case of Sam he would have taken less money to be a GM somewhere, it was his dream. I suspect Rosas is the same.
It had to have been a power struggle between Gersson and Donnie Nelson. They probably butted heads from the get-go.
any official word as to why he was fired yet?? maybe cuban couldn't take someone challenging him in front of others?
Dirk wouldn't have won anything without Tyson Chandler's defense. He and the rest of the Mavs collapsed once Tyson was gone.
