I had this same problem and it turned out my Chrome browser was blocking the popup window to continue. Used IE instead for that part and it was smooth sailing from there.

I apologize if this has been asked. But can you get ballstreams on a ps3 with out a computer? My laptop is bricked and I am not replacing it for a couple of weeks.

And does it just pop up next to the netflix icon and other video services?

Sorry buddy. You have to have a computer. :(

BUT! Your other alternative, which is a very easy, super simple solution could be if you already have some sort of Apple device (iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, iPod Touch 4G/5G, and or any model iPad 1,2,3,4 or iPad Mini) you can invest in a AppleTV ($99) and you can stream from your iOS device ( m.ballstreams.com ) direct to your TV that's connected to the little AppleTV box. I've used it a couple times, it's crazy how simple it is. I've used it a couple times with my iPhone 5 and it's crazy how simple and awesome it is. You got an ApplyTV or an iOS device, buddy?

Or you can get an HDMI cable and DVI to lightning adapter for Apple products.. Will be cheaper this route.. About $5 to $10 for the cable and $50 for the adapter.

I bought an HDMI cable and I have some problems.

    1. It doesn't take up the whole screen
    2. The sound doesn't come through the TV

What kind of laptop is it? I have a Macbook Pro and my model doesn't allow audio to be sent thru HDMI. I believe the 2010+ models do.

Anyone get this to successfully work via their PS3? Gonna be pulling the trigger later on tonight.

    Just curious is all.

If this is a windows PC, connect to the TV and:

    1. Right-click the desktop and select "screen resolution." Select the TV and make sure it is set to 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

    2. Right-click your audio notification area icon (bottom right, looks like a speaker), and select "playback devices." Make sure you have the TV/HDMI set as the "default device." This can be accomplished by right-clicking the TV/HDMI icon and selecting "set as default device."

If this is the actual problem, this is an easy "permanent" fix. Whenever you connect to the TV, all the settings will automatically change and when you disconnect, they will change back.

I have both a PS3 and a 360, but I've been content with streaming via laptop/HDMI cable to my TV or via AirPlay from my iOS device to my AppleTV that's connected to my TV. Both setups are disgustingly simple.

With the 360 and PS3 you gotta download and install the media server on your computer.... and a few other things. I don't want to deal with all that, ya know?
But I hope you get it working if you don't have a laptop/HDMI cable (which I think is the easiest and cheapest option, because I'm pretty sure you have a laptop :) and HDMI cables are super cheap... like $5 http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics--Male-Mini-B-Cable-Meters/dp/B001TH7GUK/ref=sr_1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1383022391&sr=1-3&keywords=hdmi+cable)

I got my long ethernet cable so I was able to test it last night by plugging it into the Roku.

    It worked like a charm.

You could also use a powerline network adapter too :) it's convenient.
