I love this team, hate our offense. At least when harden is on the floor. We have potential to be the best passing team in the nba.

I imagine Morey gave him all the stats of the different rotations etc, he probably understands them better than Mchale lol.

also, we're really only running a 3 guard rotation where Garcia might take a few minutes at the 2 if necessary, that's 90-96 minutes between three guys.

Also watching it, he subs Bev out at about the 5-6 minute mark, I'm guessing there's something there about Bev and his opponent showing signs of fatigue at that point.

I just read these threads to laugh at these LOFs that are just so far off the map it's hilarious. Some of these have to be trolls , right ? That one guys screen name is NYK Fan for Gods sake.

Everyone with a sane, positive response like "aw yes Jeremy Lin 6th man of the year he's going to thrive and were going to dominate" isn't even a LOF, which is the best part.

It's as if our franchise player wasn't 6th man of the year at a similar point in his career and our coach wasn't the hall of fame player that gave the award prestige. But I guess they wouldn't know that would they.

If Lin is given 30+ mpg and actually finish games, then I really see no reason to complain.
Most Rockets game starts at 7 am where I live... Lin coming off the bench give me 10 minutes of extra sleep :D

lol The problem with lin is he cant mesh with other stars. He couldn't mesh with Melo and he cant mesh with Harden here. Send him to Miami and he'll struggle with Lebron or Durant in OKC. He needs to dominate the ball and run a team. The problem is he is nowhere near a franchise calibare player to be having that much of the ball.

He probably can be a ball dominante player on a bad team but they wont win a title with him.Lin is no Harden, LBJ or Durant that you can give a franchise to and win.He knows his role and that's a good role player to a real superstar like Harden. Now LOF's here need to know there place in the food chain as well.Harden and Howard rule the roost.

    It's clearly not a demotion.
Beverly simply isn't as good as Lin would be in a sixth man role.
And Beverly brings things to the table that compliment the starters well.
And Lin's game suffers a bit when he plays with the starters.

Credit McHale for clean simple thinking on this issue.

    Go Rockets.

But who can mesh with melo? no one. all i know is when he's given the freedom usually when guys like harden or melo he typically goes off. i feel he could maintain his linsanity numbers on the right team. think about it, when did linsanity stop? when melo came back.

Cousy? Cousy was an mvp, made all nba 1st team/all star almost his whole career.

    I think you mean Havlicek

Jeremy Lin playing the 6th man role is another step taken towards a championship this season.

IMO, this is a precursor to a trade midseason if at all available. You don't trade your starter as it messes with chemistry but you can trade your 6th-7th man. Bev is clearly the future for this team and given his cheap contract, they have more wiggle room to pay Chandler his millions.

You don't need to like his game, but making up stories isn't going to support your argument, if you had one to start with.

Where did you get that he couldn't mesh with Melo? Didn't they win 6 in a row when Woodson took the coach job? Didn't they go back to playoffs, with Lin as the starting PG? Didn't Lin finish games strong in 4 quarters with Melo on the court?

Again, where did you get that story he couldn't mesh with Harden again? After the first 2 games, didn't reporters over-dramatizing how Rockets have the best back-court duo in the league? Didn't Rockets advance to playoffs, with both Harden and Lin starting, after nobody gave them a chance to start with? Didn't Harden have his best season with Lin starting?

Yeah, moving to bench is not enough for you, you have to label him as a cancer? Just curious, what has Jeremy Lin in Rockets jersey done to you?

Also, let me say, superstars get superstar calls (we all know that), and Lin will put some pressure on the refs with his international prestige, I think more so even than Yao, who was discriminated against b/c of his size. If you have Yao calls he would score every time, much like Shaq did, and the game wouldn't be so entertaining. Lin makes a good game to watch, brings viewership, and is a good fast, smart, not undersized player who will be sixth man of the year easily if the Rockets go anywhere this year.

Lol yep. The "Fans" of Lin are the ones complaining that he's not starting or not complaining about his role. They seem to have no hope that he's going to thrive in this role ala Manu and seem to think he'll just flame out and become forgotten.

    Really good 'Fans' there.

That's why I think Lin will do very well if he becomes the first option with the second unit. Both Harden and Lin play best when they are the one handling the ball. That's why last season, in almost every game where Harden didn't play, Lin put out solid numbers. With enough hard work, hopefully Lin might earn the 6th man award.
