I did not read the book so based on the trailer alone, I might just stick to reading it.. Whitey saves the world, yet again!!!
It's a pity that this looks like a fairly pedestrian Hollywood adaptation of the book. I'm particularly disappointed that they're using teenaged actors when the books are all about kids who are far younger. I think Ender was 6 at the beginning and 12 at the end. To me that was part of what made the book. Anyway, I do not have high expectations for this movie at all, but I suppose if it gets even more people to read the book that it won't be all bad. Ender's Game and Watership Down are pretty much the only two books that I recommend unreservedly to anyone and everyone.
Looks like nothing special. I read the book in anticipation of the movie, but thought all along that it would be a difficult adaptation. Then, when I saw who was directing it, I stopped looking forward to the movie despite its strong cast. I still recommend reading the book though. Looking like a redbox. how u.
I don't know what y'all are smoking, but I know what I'm smoking, and nothing about the trailer screams out anything less than "fairly solid" to me. Besides the kids being older than they should be, and Mandarin with tats on his face playing Mazer, I didn't see anything to make me believe it will suck. I'm just happy to see the adaptation.
God I hope this is good, I'm thirstin for a really good Sci Fi movie and Star Trek 2 didn't quite do the job..
THis movie is going to be a hit or a miss. H-Ford though? Guy is straight up senile and couldn't even do a decent voice over.
I would think the opposite, since I would be worried about them screwing it up. We'll see how the movie turns out, but the trailer looks fine to me.
I'm surprised the actors are so old, the reason this book hasn't been made into a movie before now is Card refusing to allow teenagers and the forced inclusion of a love story.

With an average 5.7/10. Not a good sign. Early numbers are usually soft, and tend to go down closer to release. I'm not planning on seeing this, anyway. I'd rather just go see Gravity again.
