How many minutes will DMo average this season as a Rocket?

I really wish he would have had more PT in Preseason. His numbers were solid. Seems we are either big with Asik in the lineup or small with Caspi as 4. I don't know why we don't do more of a traditional 4 in the lineup. I think he has the potential to have the best offensive low post game of anyone on the team. Asik and Howard are best at pick and rolls or crashing towards the basket. Howard is also better facing up his defender.

 

10-12 minutes at the most.

 

He was taking 9-10 shots in 20 minutes

probably take 6-8 shots in 14-16 minutes

 

I really hope you are wrong. I expect Rockets are going to blow out a lot of teams this year. With garbage time, I think Rockets will be able to get DMo up to the 15 mpg if he plays before Jones.

 

Except that D-Mo is already a better rebounder and 10 times the scorer those other guys ever were.

 

Of course he is, but that doesn't fit with the BS story some people around here are trying to sell.

 

Being better than Darko and Brian Scalabrine doesn't mean you get a spot in the rotation. That's just a prerequisite for being in the NBA.

 

Hard to tell, if team does well he easily can get from 15 to 25 minutes of play. Season opening is against Bobcats, they don't have ANY good PF and I don't see Asik starting against Zeller.

 

Well as long as the other team doesn't have anything resembling a competent PF then there's nothing wrong with playing Casspi at the 4, for teams that have even a slightly competent PF, DMo should get those minutes at the 4.

 

I see him around 9 min, with the minutes split between him at PF and Center.

Because in my view, as it currently stands he's the third PF and third Center in rotation.

T-Jones for a second season is completely out of the rotation.

 

I'm just saying. That comparison is somewhat flawed.

D-Mo could easily be a starting PF on a non-playoff team. And I think he's already more than capable of being a backup PF on a contender.

 

Asik/Howard combo looks like it will be effective....and Casspi has earned rotation minutes. Doesn't leave much for DMo. 10 minutes at most barring injury to those ahead of him. I don't see Jones getting anything but garbage time minutes.

 

Like 0.05 minutes by accident.

 

Casspi won't keep them, he's simply not a PF and teams will exploit him. Casspi is a terrible defender at the 3, he's tragic at the 4. Unless he hits like 40+% of his 3 point shots there's no way it's worth it to play him at the 4.
