Stop reading my posts and go watch it before I ruin it for you! Kamina was never gone. Simon carried him on his back and carried him in his heart, and by the end of the series every ounce of Kamina was living through Simon's soul.
Just watched the latest episode of Kill la Kill and it was all kinds of awesome! One of the most hilarious things I've even seen animated. The show has such frantic energy and great action and humor. It's up there with AoT as my fave anime of the year right now.
I've been watching on crunchyroll and netflix mostly... though some I have watched on youtube or animehere. Okay so anyone who is watching little busters refrain already know what's going to happen, because I have a question? Spoiler So Rin and Riki are officially a couple now... which looks like why Kyuosuke has been "changing" things to make sure it happens. But, why are the girls starting to disappear? They already had their "problems" resolved so I figured that was why once their last purpose in the world was concluded - meaning to help Rin not be so alone - that is why they left.... is this like Angel Beats? Are we in some sort of purgatory of unfinished business? Komari needed the truth about her brother Haruka needed to make peace with her sister Kud needed to face her mother's legacy Yuiko needed to experience falling in love Mio needed to learn how to be herself among others So we've gone through all the girls but Rin... and what about Masato and Kengo... I'm so confused!! Also, was this a game first? It sort of has that feel to it. Though not as much as some, I saw some spoilers about "routes" on my anime list's forums... so I'm guessing each of the girls is a route.
It was a visual novel. I'll get back to your question, I have yet to see the episode and I hope I can understand what is going on. Refrain is kind of hurting my head right now understanding it.
Just finished watching Gurren Lagann. The dubbing was terrible but the animation was nice so I tolerated it for half the season. Good show, but the pattern of ridiculousness wore on me in the beginning. It reminded me of FLCL. That flash forward from episode 1 set grander expectations that made me wonder if I was watching a Saturday morning cartoon for the first half. So I totally liked the change midpoint into the show. Heavy stuff. Simon was like Shinji from Evangelion early on, but he pulled through. I'll have to think about this show more. One of those shows that have memorable points, characters, and themes but forgettable in the repetitive action scenes.
Okay it's only two days into basketball season and I'm already behind! lol I'm definitely going to have issues Also I saw today that crunchyroll is getting simulcast rights to one piece... So I'll have to try to catch up
Not necessarily. Subs generally cut out a lot of material that you can (theoretically) fit into a dub. Dubbing can keep a lot of the nuanced language from the original if done right. Although I haven't watched a dubbed series since watching Evangellion back in like 2000. So I don't know how they're done today. Still, worth a try if you don't feel it's weird to hear English in an anime. Anyway, want to mention I hated TTGL. Tried to force myself to watch it due to the incredible hype around it at the time, but it just felt boring to me. Especially compared to Code Geass that aired around the same time.
Any Uchu Kyoudai (Space Brothers) fans in here? It's not your traditional manga but you get to see a lot of Houston in it!
Man I really dislike this anime... I am trying so damn hard to get into it and i just cant... Adult swim finally got into the Waters 7 arch, the one that I have been waiting 20+ episodes for, the one everyone has been raving about and I am bored to tears.. granted I am only 2 episodes in to this arch but the walking from building to building is so frustrating...
FYI, after this arc and the Enies Lobby arc (they are interconnected) is when I gave up on One Piece. I recently tried to give it another shot, but there's just too much pausing on characters' reactions (do we seriously need to dwell 5 seconds each on all of the crewmates' plus side characters' reactions to a single event?) and too much of one character just running around for like 8 episodes. While some of the fights are definitely fun to watch and occasionally the humor is very funny, the journey to get to these points was just too long and tedious for me. It would have been even more excruciating if I had to sit there and wait a week between episodes. And while I would agree that One Piece is good at keeping fillers to a minimum, I feel like they go over the top in the amount of time that is devoted to recapping the previous episodes. Many times, after the recap, 1/3 of the episode time has been eaten up. Anyway, I might come off a bit harsh, but I'm really not trying to **** on people who love One Piece. Maybe one day when it's finally completed I'll go back and finish it as there are enjoyable parts, and I am curious to see how it would end. Though after briefly googling, it seems that after 600+ episodes, the creator says the story is just a little more than half told!!
I felt it got absurdly mindless halfway through the series, but after a certain resolution point, it becomes more serious and epic. The dubs made it really cheesy, so that had some effect on that.
I'm a huge One Piece fan and even I don't really like the anime all that much. In fact, I don't know many One Piece fans that do. The extremely slow pacing that they use to keep to their one manga chapter per episode policy renders much of it damn near unwatchable (much like Bleach in the Hueco Mundo arc), but the episodes that cover big events in the story are much better and sometimes excellent. The appeal of One Piece is that it is one of, if not the best, mangas going right now, and it's overall story, world-building (with an unbelievably rich and complex history), and character development are top notch. Oda being such a workaholic and putting out so much content every week is nothing short of amazing.
So I should read the manga instead of watch the episodes and get caught up? I really did start to like some of the characters when I was watching, but it moved so slowly I only made it through 50 before I got frustrated.
Ahh now I get it finally. The Manga is so great the fans just put up with the Anime because they can fill in the blanks and they already know what's happening. I've been trying to figure out why One Piece is so popular. I'm done complaining and scratching my head over this. I'm doing it wrong; I have to read the Manga too.
It's kinda hard to say. The manga is definitely better overall and has a much better flow to it, but the anime improves upon a lot of the big battles and has some awesome moments itself. When I first got into One Piece, I caught up via watching the anime, but I developed this great instinct for when to skip the seek bar forward through a lot of the dead areas so it wasn't so bad, lol I guess overall I'd say it's better to read the manga and maybe go back and watch specific episodes of the anime that cover big points in the story. However, if you were to watch the anime overall it's much better to do so with an episode guide that helps you skip all the filler.
