Accidentally posted this in the original Harden trade thread instead of here:

So basically, it came down to:

Courtney Lee --> Charlotte 2013 2nd Round Pick --> Alex Abrines
Jordan Hill --> Dallas Pick (top 20 protected thru 2018)
Kyle Lowry --> Toronto Lottery Pick --> Steven Adams
    Kevin Martin (expiring)
    Jeremy Lamb

    for

James Harden, Lazar Hayward (waived, had to eat 1.17m contract), Daequan Cook (waived, had to eat most of his 3.09m contract), Cole Aldrich

So the bolded items above and ~4m cash, for the top ranked SG in the league, and a year of Cole Aldrich. I'll do that 100 times out of 100.

I still can't believe so many people thought Martin would just fit right in and fill Harden's role...

My attempted troll statements after people saying Harden was equal to Kevin Martin.

I remember being so happy that Kevin Martin was gone; I absolutely HATED Martin's game! I remember being one of the people sad to see Jeremy Lamb go. I remember liking Harden, but not thinking he was worth the Max.... until the first game of the season...

24 year old SUPERSTAR. Arguably the best guard in the entire NBA.

    Future HOFer.

For Jeremy Lamb and Steven Adams.

We would be remiss if we did not extend a big 'thank you' to david stern.

without him, none of this is possible. we would be looking at a team with gasol and nene. morey really lucked out on that one.

Yep, that guy is truly fool's gold. Gets all his points in mainly one half and seems so efficient because he's afraid to hoist when the team really needs him to.

He was never going to fill that role because Harden isn't shy when it comes to taking big shots.

That were some crazy times. I remember begging on here to get out of this trade, although most people on here seemed to like it. It was awkward when Stern killed it, but I still was relieved - when just about everyone on here was going nuts. What crazy turn of events let to all this.

If we could have traded for Howard before (with the Harden package), we couldn`t have gotten Harden and Howard would`ve left us like he did the Lakers.

This shows, all the bad stuff that happens to you might lead to something a lot better than you could ever imagine.

Thanks Presti, thank Stern, thanks Howard - and most of all: thanks Morey!

For me it was kind of a weird process because while I knew Harden was good, I didn't care enough about OKC(or any other team with the Rockets being so mediocre) to really know HOW good he was.

But after I started analyzing his stats and started reading analysis of his game, I knew right there that he would succeed here. I gradually went from "Morey took a risk but a risk I like him taking" to "Holy crap I can't believe we got James Harden!"

Then Detroit/Atlanta games happened, and the rest as they say is history. :)

    God Bless James Harden.

Now, cheap OKC owners, don't do enough to retain Durant :)

    Thanks, Sam Presti!!

I definitely remember where I was. I went to a Halloween bar crawl that night, and the streets were going absolutely NUTS when the news came through. Did not disappoint.

Everybody remember how they felt when they saw James Harden's first game as a Rocket?

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/cCAFdBWuNhw?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I was thanking God, I thought he'd be a 20 point player with a chance to be an all star. Then I saw the second game

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/WC99ji34hNg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It blew my mind I didn't know he was going to be this good. The fan-base was electric, women cried, grown men swooned. After all those years of the pain of mediocrity, Yao and Tracy's injuries and being on the 9th seed treadmill, it had to be one of the happiest weeks of my life as a Rockets fan.

He actually was the superstar we were dying to get, now we have two (!!) and a solid shot at winning a championship! Is this real life?

Man just a year ago Kevin Martin was a best player, now we have James Harden and Dwight Howard on this roster. We're in for a treat fellas :)
