omri certainly has potential to go to the allstar game... as part of the 3 person shooting team (current player, alumni, wnba)

Three words: sample size and preseason.

With that said, so far so good though. Let me revisit this thread in midseason.

You talking about the Shooting Stars competition ?
I don't think we qualify, Houston doesn't have a WNBA team anymore, the Comets folded back in 2010.

~lol~ Jeremy Lamb the next Ray Allen, Royce White the next LBJ!

Anyways, Casspi isn't good enough to be a starter in this league. He is a classic tweener, not strong enough to be PF and not fast enough to be SF. He is a little awkward and not athletic enough to be real good offensively. Great for energy and scoring off the bench.

Nice find! He was a gunner in the preseason and I hope he tones it down a little bit in the regular season. Seems like Lin can help him some.

Not sure if Cassipi has all-star potential but you gotta love the way he's playing.

Omri Casspi a D-league AllStar? I think you are selling him short. He might make the rotation.

Casspi's TS% was 52.6%, which is Toney Douglas, James Anderson territory. The Rockets had 14 players shoot that well or better last season.

Shooting 50% from the field is actually pretty ineffective if you don't make 3's or free throws.

Of course, the team overall has a TS% of 47.5%, which is horrible.

Casspi is not an All Star at this point and I doubt he will ever be. Let's not get carried away. However, he might be the perfect player for the Rockets in the coming campaign. If he can keep his scoring in double figures and rebounds at 6-7 in 20 minutes, he will be the difference maker in for the Rockets. He seems to be in a perfect environment for his game (as I predicted in before the pre-season). I'm truly looking forward to his impact and I have a good feeling about it.

Most Improved Player, Sixth Man is definitely possible. Even that is a great achievement after wasting away on the bench in Sacramento and Cleveland.
