I remember this day like it was yesterday. I was sleep on the couch, woke up and saw the trade going across the screen and thought I was dreaming. After that I jumped around the house for 10 minutes straight and woke my wife and kids up ha ha. Happy anniversary!
The trade could've been Andre Drummond(Kyle Lowry for #8 overall pick owned by Toronto), Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, etc for Harden if Toronto's GM didn't hold out for Steve Nash via free agency. Good luck competing against Durant, Westbrook, and Drummond, who has a chance to be the East's best center this year.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this.

The Rockets send Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and future draft considerations to the Thunder for Harden, sources tell Y! Sports.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) October 28, 2012
 here's the thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=227853
I remember I was at Discovery Green where they had their annual Scream on the Green event. I got a text from 610, I was so excited. I never really thought Harden was going to be a superstar but he was definitely better than Kevin Martin who was obviously not going to resign with the rockets. I thought Harden was 20-21 ppg, 4 apg, 4 rpg with low efficiency (40% fg percentage) type of player. I had him somewhere between Joe Johnson and prime Manu Ginobli type of player. Good numbers but never thought he would take his game to superstar level.
same here. I first learned from the thread here, and I had the same reaction. I didn't know he could be this good
I was doing a last check on twitter before I logged off for the night. All I remember was laughing and thinking, "freaking Daryl Morey!". We get James and OKC breaks up their Big 3! What can be better than that? A year later, Dwight Howard. Once again, "freaking Darly Morey!".
I've been wrong plenty of times about players, and will be wrong again. Harden wasn't one of those times. I was at work and saw the tweets and thought it was some kind of joke. Never in a MILLION years did I think we could get Harden. Never. Ever, and I was the biggest Dork Elvis fan ever I wanted him, I knew he would be a superstar, I knew he could rekindle basketball glory in Houston, but there was NO CHANCE IN HELL <Vince McMahon voice> that Okc would ever trade him. Why would they? They were building a Dynasty with him, Durrant and Westbrook. Harden was one of those players that I always wanted on my 2k13 team, but...I could never do it cause I felt so bad, like "there is no way in real life the Rockets have anything to trade for him", so I wouldn't do it, as I was always towards realistic trades in the game. Somehow though, the stars aligned, Presti was drunk, and Morey whispered those sweet...sweet nothings in his ear and we got him. That single move, that monumental night, changed the landscape of the NBA forever. Talk about a butterfly effect. With Harden they probably defeat the Heat this year. They have a dangerous core for a least a couple years. Without him? Houston is now closer to a title than OKC is, Durrant and Westbrook will probably leave, and OKC might even lose their team in 10-12 years. I have no idea what in the hell Presti was thinking, but I'm so glad he wasn't thinking, and let us, Houston Rockets fans, relive our old glory and get us back to the Elite Status where we so rightfully belong
A friend called me while I was out with a date. I had to pull over to a gas station to look at my Twitter feed. The look on my date when I was explained why we pulled over, haha. Happy Harden-iversary, everyone
My wife had the computer. I want to say I was playing Xbox360 or watching TV when she asked me.... "Who is James Harden?" I told her. She said "Well we just traded for him" I assumed she was mistaken. She was not.
I just remember my friend tagging me on facebook to a Yahoo article and wondering what was going on. When I clicked and saw the title, my eyes went wide open and I started to first laugh then I yelled in hysteria cause I knew our STAR has arrived. I loved Harden since his days in OKC and never thought Presti would let him go...remembering this day is giving me goosebumps lol
I remember sitting on my computer with about 6 friends, all of which aren't really NBA fans at all, and probably don't even know who James Harden is. Scrolling through my Twitter feed, saw Woj report the deal, did a quadruple take because I couldn't believe it. I screamed at the top of my lungs "WE GOT HARDEN" and all my friends just stared at my like an idiot. I then ran upstairs to call all my friends who are big fellow Rockets fans, and watched Harden highlights on Youtube until about 1-2 in the morning.
My son was a huge Harden fan. He's stationed in UK, so when I called him on Skype he was literally ecstatic. I started to really get excited and saw James as a bit of a throw back to Oscar Robertson. Great job DM, this was the turning point for what will be the Rox's championship run, starting this year.
Look at Jeremy Lamb, smiling in the background. He knows (one good shooter to the next) what's about to happen. In your face IBacka.
