No sorry team is going to give up a top 5 pick in this upcoming draft for Asik.

Asik's stock is going to blow through the roof. Other than NO, what teams can possible interested in shopping for a center?

Yeah, Bogut is almost like Asik, except with hands to catch and put the ball in the hoop. Anything less than $14 mill for a 7-foot center with such a skill set, is a bargain. Warriors are serious about becoming a contender.

I think Golden State is good team but I just don't see them making that huge of a leap. I think they're currently the 5th best team in the West, behind Hou, LAC, OKC, and SAS in no particular order (and possibly Memphis).

This is good news for us. I think this could handicap GS in the long run.

Bogut's contract could very well end up doing to Golden State what Perkins' contract is currently doing to OKC. Both teams were young, perimeter oriented squads, with key pieces still on their rookie deals, and a veteran C who they seemingly valued too much.

The difference is that GS's owner is willing to go over the tax. That said, I highly doubt that this deal won't play a large role in losing one of Barnes/Thompson after their TO years (my prediction is that they extend Barnes and trade Klay for picks/pennies on the dollar). There's simply too much money allocated to Bogut/Lee/Iggy (plus add in Curry's bargain $12 mil) to keep both, and Bogut is the obvious overpay in that group.

While he was valuable for GS in the playoffs, is far too injury prone (and is 2-3 years removed from his last quality season), and his production could easily be replicated by a cheaper/healthier option.

In the last 3 seasons, at the ages of 26-28, in the 6th, 7th, and 8th seasons of his career, after turning his right arm into a pretzel, Bogut played a total of 109 games, shot 48% from the field, 48% from the FT line, had a total rebound rate of 24% and a turnover rate of 15%.

In the last 3 seasons, at the ages of 24-26, Asik, in the first 3 seasons of his career, while remaining healthy, played in a total of 230 games, shot 52% from the field, 52% from the free throw line, had a 20% total rebound rate, and a 20% turnover rate.

Last year, Bogut played in 32 games, shot 45.1% from the field, 44.8% from the free throw line, had a total rebound rate of 17.2, and a turnover rate of 18.7.

Last year, at age 26, Asik played in a total of 82 games, shot 54% from the field, 56% from the free throw line, had a total rebound rate of 22, and a turnover rate of 14.5.

I know... There were a few people in the media that think they have a chance to win the West.

I just don't see that happening. From the games I've seen last year, no one really plays tough D on that team. I know they brought in Iggy but I think losing Jarret Jack and Landry will hurt.

Health is a factor though, with Bogut, Curry, and probably David Lee, that's 3 injury prone players in the starting lineup.
