The primary reason D-Mo cannot become a great defensive player at the five is simply because D-Mo does not care to become a great defensive player. He doesn't have the desire or the drive to be great on the defensive end. He wants to run up and down, free flow, get his points, touch the basketball, dribble it, pass it, shoot it, and on defense he wants to wander around without putting in any effort and gamble on getting a steal or faking like he's gonna contend a shot instead of actually getting in proper defensive position.

DESIRE - DMo doesn't have the desire to be a great defensive player. It's been long enough. It's clearly evident all over his game. He'll probably play for many years in this league...similar to Al Jefferson....some team will probably gift wrap him $50 million in a couple years. But he won't be a great player. Because he has a distorted view of what great basketball is. He thinks it's all about getting the next basket and nothing about stopping the opponent from getting a basket.

LOH and ABJ are extinct and long gone. Right now the battle is between LOF and BOF, it's going to be WW3 in the garm, which side are you on?

Are there really people who signed up just for Bev and make up crap about the organization and other players to prop him up or have some excuse for every single criticism made about him?

I personally haven't come across any so far. Just fans of the team who want what's best for the Rockets and a handful of people who love to antagonize the group of Lin fans who are extra sensitive.

I mostly see some troll comments and obvious bait to get some people riled up. I think what Beverley is doing is great for the team and having two different weapons at the point guard spot, whom we can keep fresh all throughout the season with good minute distribution is an advantage that not many teams can boast. I believe that one article stating how McHale, a former 6th man himself made a HoF career out of it believes the necessity of a strong 6th man. Nothing should be seen as a demotion but rather a way of helping this team succeed.

You can keep telling yourself that, but it's a demotion.

I agree with you. People will understand during the season how this is really a luxury for us. Just give people time.

Woah, don't get carried away. Dwight Howard is not a top 5 player in the NBA.

That's precisely why there's so much infighting around here. Lin could be a fantastic 6th man and provide much needed offense from the bench, but if you're gonna say he's worse than Bev then people are going to push for Lin to start instead.

Personally I'm more inclined toward BLOF. They play well together for just about every game so far.

I just want to point out that defense offense PGs stuff is a myth. Beverley is an all around player as oppose to what people (mostly Lin fans) believe. While he is not yet NBA proven, that guy is battle proven. He had been in championship contention when he was in Russia.

Mchale's former 6th man experience, the alternating start, and the Fit bull***** are just PR moves by the Rockets to ease the tension of Lin fans. The Rockets management wanted Beverley to start. Everything they put out as reason why Lin should start on the bench applies to Asik too but you don't see that alternating Asik.

Demotion is demotion, no matter how many glorious excuses there are. Guess you never experience the Company promote someone junior to your original post and lead your original team while you go do the development stuff with the newcomers. They don't say you suck but the writing is on the wall "Someone is better than you."

Seriously, it's starting to sound like the infighting is within Lin fans. It really isn't about Lin or Bev, but Harden and who's the ideal fit next to him. And if you've been watching the preseason the eye test (cause I haven't seen the preseason stats, yet) will tell you that Harden plays better with Bev next to him (and this is not a slight to Lin). It's just so happens that Beverley's strengths are what is needed in the first unit, and Lin's, with the 2nd unit. There's no reason why fans of either player should feel insecure about who starts.

Please stop trying to start something. It doesn't matter who starts both are very good. Also just because someone is coming of the bench as a 6th man doesn't mean he is worse. You can ask James Harden about that.
