McHale was a huge reason we even got Dwight Howard....... I'm guessing you're more concerned about a line in the boxscore though

The general consensus of the board is that the best player/fit should start. You and other LOFs consensus is "Why's Lin not starting. McHale racist. Rockets racist. CF racist."

Well said. Part of my issue is that nobody can make a remark anymore without being branded as part of one faction or another. It's just become ridiculous. I know this game thread is gonna be a ****fest, so I'm gonna stay out of this one.

No no no, not saying McHale is racist.

Just pointing out that unfortunately, Lin has lost his starting position to a better player.

 

That is one damn good defensive lineup, especially if Harden/Parsons can both put more effort into defense. There is no reason they shouldn't since they don't have to shoulder the same offensive load as last year. We might have one of the best starting defensive lineups in the league with the current five.

i highly, HIGHLY doubt it had anything to do with the last two games. you don't decide on the starter based on two games playing under the weather.

even if you're right, that lin was inconsistent the last two games... well, an inconsistent, sinus infected lin still put up better numbers than bev in pt, ast, and reb.

this whole preseason has been about seeing whether or not Bev could be a viable starter at the pg spot, not about experimenting. bev was giving every chance to succeed. as soon as mac said "i have two starting pgs" you know bev would get the spot. there's no need to "experiment" and take time away from the starters jelling and developing chemistry (especially with howard on board) if you never intended to look for a new starting pg in the first place. you only get so many preseason games to get howard to fit in.

i personally haven't seen enough to make a call but none of us have seen them on the practice court. and you can't say with a straight face that bev has convinced you, without a doubt, to be the better fit at pg. it's perfectly within mchale right to not want lin as his starting pg, that's totally fine, and i can see benefits from both angles. gonna be an interesting season, to say the least.
