Mr. Reality will be slapping you in the face when Lin starts every game this season. If he gets injured then you and the rest of the internet coaches can pat yourselves on the back. Because that is the only way Bev starts.

 

Not too sure - I can see Lin being on the bench actually and I'm a big Lin fan. Bev played most of the minutes last night. Let's see how tonight works out - will Lin be starting this time? I thikn McHale said he will alternate between each game.

I also noticed Dwight doesn't do PNR that much...why is that?

That is not true and where are you getting your sample size. Harden and Lin combo was top 5 last season. So why would McHale change something that is already working. Bev IMO is a high energy guy coming off the bench.

Exactly. Having an elite back up for your star is well worth it, particularly at the 5. Recall a few years ago when Morey tried to get Gortat to back up Yao to save him from heavy minutes in the interest of longevity and performance over a long season plus playoffs.

 

Why is McHale alternating starting lineups right now then? He must be trolling, amirite?

I honestly don't care who starts because both have their pros and cons but to say Bev has no chance of starting doesn't make sense. Why would McHale take away valuable time from lin to play with the first unit if he's convinced that he's starting lin?

In pre-season, you experiment if you think you could find something even better.

McHale isn't going to put Asik at PG just because it's "pre-season". What he will do is try out different line-ups and rotation of players to see what maximizes the team's skills.

So you are wrong if you think McHale isn't thinking about starting Beverley, even if Lin does remain starter.

Such a fun team and entertaining style of play. Harden going into video game mode right after half time was amazing to watch. Those 2 Harden to Parsons fast breaks dunks had me out of my seat. The no-look made the NBA assist of the night, but my fav was the alley oop. Expect great things from CP this year!

Why would he experiment with different lineups if he's convinced he's starting lin? Wouldn't it be a waste of an opportunity to build more chemistry?
