Are any of you worried about chemistry issues with Asik being unhappy?

If you've seen Asik's interviews, and while he is on the court, he just looks pissed off that Dwight took his starting job.

I could be wrong, but it seems as if it could be the cause of a chemistry issue with the Rockets, and may force Daryl Morey to trade him sooner rather than later.

    He's a professional, he'll get over it.

I don't see what he really has to complain about anyway if he gets 25+ minutes and gets to be in the starting lineup, which he just may.

Example : When Dwight got that pocket pass from James harden and made that crazy And 1 while falling down, Asik was the closest player to him, and they completely avoided each other.

Asik made a half-assed effort to approach Howard acting like he was trying to help him up, but then just walked the other way. Parsons and Harden congratulated him for the play with high fives. Asik? Nope.

I don't think that starting lineup is going to be permanent. The Asik/Howard pairing hasn't worked very well....

I'd be worried if Asik was happy. Being unhappy is the natural reaction. But who cares. Over time this issue will dissipate. Asik has another big contract coming up in 2 years. He's looking easily at 4yr/$40~50mil range assuming he keeps up his play. He's not going to rock the boat and sabotage his own future earnings.

Yeah he looked pissed in the 1st quarter when Howard basically bumped him out of bounds for the rebound. He just looked at Howard in what looked like disbelief. Asiks rebounding stats are going to take a hit with the way Howard's been rebounding.

More than likely he will be traded so his happiness is secondary to the team's success. Hopefully his departure will bless us with more role players who compliment our team and can make us real contenders.

I saw that rebound tussle. Was thinking the same thing, he looked pissed at Dwight for that bump (not so much the rebound). Not sure if Omer is really happy with his situation, and I believe Morey has hinted at it a few times. When asked about Omer, Morey's always answers along the line of "winning cures all", which implies some dissatisfaction on Omer's half. I hope DM's right and that Omer will get over it once we win in regulation and he realizes how important and integral he really is to our team. I don't care if he's an $8 mil luxury, I'm totally against trading him.

Didn't you people watch the game? Asik is starting. Nobody took his starting job.

Wow. This post is kind of weird. JLin didn't look too happy either, Bev having taken his starting job. Players are professionals; they get paid tens of millions of dollars to play the game they love. I wouldn't worry too much about Asik's or Jeremy's "feellings;" and I doubt very much the Rockets are worried about it either. Neither are superstars to the point they can demand a trade, and get it. Players know that in the NBA they don't always get what they want. Anyhow Asik is getting his minutes and has opportunity to be a part of a very special season: no reason to complain.

All those pick n rolls that Asik was getting last year are going almost exclusively to Dwight. Asik really does look like he is just standing out there waiting for something to happen on offense. I think once he realizes he wont be the recipient of his accustomed to PnR passes, but the High-Low pass from Dwight instead, he will look more comfortable and attentive. Now, I don't know if he is unhappy, but there just isn't much for him to do on offense. He Doesn't look unmotivated on the defensive end to me. Asik isn't very demonstrative when something good happens on the floor anyway, so I wouldn't put too much stock in him not giving Dwight congratulations after a play. Furthermore, last year no one really helped anyone up off the floor last year. I remember times when Harden or Lin would be on the floor for what seemed like hours until someone from the other team helped them up.

When Dwight and Asik were out of the game, they sat by each other. If Asik was unhappy, would he sit by the guy that has "taken his spot"?

YES! last 2 games with Asik it seems like he's not 100% into the games anymore like he was last year and IMO I think he's lost his confidence but that's just me or maybe he still rusty but I have noticed ...trade might be coming sooner then later

if he looks disinterested i would say it's not b/c he's unhappy, but b/c he knows morey's eventually gonna trade him anyways

He should just be working on his jump shot, then everything will be fine.

I feel sorry for the big guy.
He does all the hustle plays for the team and doesn't get the reward for it.

When he seals his man and sticks out his arm for the inside feed - the person on the perimeter more often the not swings the ball to the opposite side.

Anyone would be pissed that they proved themselves in the League only to be seemingly demoted straight away. But he's got to realise that GM's aren't going to lowball him on his next contract because his numbers went down. They will realise what he's capable of as a starter and his game was hindered by Dwight.

I hope at some stage of this season he eventually realises this and buys into the thought of 48 minutes of rim protection and elite rebounding are the keys to defeating Miami and reaching the pinnacle in basketball.
