I am also in on the HIMX. I've just started following the market, and isn't it strange how some news generates huge runs, while others (that seem to me much more legitimate) don't at all? Funny how that works. The shorters seem to trade on speculative news in particular, like SA or thestreet or minyanville articles, or even yahoo msgboard hype. While the long ones like me have to just sit out the waves and actually follow real stuff, like actual earnings and actual market growth rather than earnings vs the expectation, or growth vs the expectation. Sitting out on rumors is not for the faint of heart, but more often than not it has the feel of market manipulation just trying to coax a price down to a tolerable level for the hedge funds and whales that induce price fluctuations just by getting into and out of their stocks.

I'm open to advice from anyone at this point, although I'm probably not going to enter the short game anytime soon just because of my 70hr/wk regular job.

I bought SEAC today. Rumor of buyout and BWS has a price target of 30.

Lol Robbie you are so butthurt bc everytime I make a call you find every reason to prove that I'm wrong and alas himx and iag had significant short term gains when I called them and when you said I was wrong don't be mad bro my rice MBA has taught me more than any of that technical analysis that you've picked up in that $39.99 online course, but go on keep stroking your ego by posting your "technical analysis" on a basketball forum......you're 0-2 on my calls while up quite a bit so you look like a fool right now.

I've wished you luck on your trades and I've never said that I wanted you to lose money on them. I have been critical of many things you've said and you operate with far too many ideas that are absolutely true in your mind. I guess I can come off a bit tough at times but I've traded a pretty good amount in my nearly 10 years of being a professional trader. It's treated me well but I've also lost a lot of money and made a lot of missteps along the way. If I am critical of someone it isn't because I am butthurt or angry. It's because I want them to try to evaluate all the risks and to have a plan. A lot of money is lost by not evaluating all the risk and by have improper planning or failing to stick to plans.

All that said... It is true I don't like your stupid bull**** online persona, but then again I'm not the only one.

And I thought you were in law school? When did your Rice education turn into a Rice MBA? What did you concentrate in?

Why am I a troll? Bc I didn't like being a 1L with all the unbearable reading? I went from wanting a JD/MBA and a career in hollywood at william morris where I interned a few summers during undergrad to just getting an MBA.

So now I can't be an agent, o well, I have a good job now.

HIMX holding strong in the $9.65 range, so much for your prediction of $8.50. Once again you've failed.

OK, guys, what should I do? I bought stock in Netflix and NQ last month. Now I'm at the wrong end of a massive short on both. I'm down about 15% of Netflix purchase prece and over 50% of the NQ price I payed for. Should I cut my losses and move on, or hold onto it hoping it will go back up ?

I'll read up on the NQ thing for you.

What price did you buy NFLX at?

Bench I did a little research on it. NQ is trying to be up front about things with their conference call today, but it is strange with their classification of cash.

Muddy Waters has issued some very dramatic research in the past that ended up ultimately creating buying opportunities when they crashed the stock. EDU was one they called a scam awhile back and it bottomed out at 10 and now is 27. I might look to buy some NQ whenever it reopens if it crashes far enough, but who knows with this thing right now. I don't know when they will even reopen for trading.

I bought NFLX near the high at $348 after Zack's upgraded it to a 'strong buy' and they were talking about incorporating Netflix into cable TV units. But then the Budget crisis brought it down a bit, then a week later Carl Icahn dumps millions of his NFLX shares at wholesale. The stock still looks strong, but I hope it doesn't fall back under $300 again.

I see NQ is open. Fwiw it's a good sign that it's holding up near 12. I might look to average in (EDIT) below 11.50 if you can. Like maybe add in 25-50% more then put a stop on the trade at 9.50.

edit again...This is a tough position to be in. Sorry that it happened. I'm really trying to figure out a decent plan for you but it changes with every minute lol

more edits :p just bought some at an avg of 10.85. i'm gonna have to leave the office soon too. so i'll just stick to my 9.50 stop...if you see some dip****'s stop driving the stock down at 9.50 then that was me lol. this thing feels weak though. i really would like to get long and hold it for awhile to test out my anti-muddy waters investment idea.

Put a stop at $298 on NFLX.

For future knowledge don't buy based on analysts buy ratings. If an analyst issues a sell rating then pay attention to what they say.

Thanks for the tip Robbie, I've never had a stock do this before. It's one thing for the value to drop, but to say it's a completely fraudulent company? Damn.

I bought NQ @ $23.90, so I'm hoping I can get some of my money back. Meanwhile an army of lawyers are investigating NQ Mobile, so if they find it's legit, the stock would jump again. If it is bogus, maybe I can get some money back in a class action lawsuit.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for Angie's list to bottom out so I can buy. I was fortunate enough to sell ANGI near it's peak @ $23.50 last month, now I'm waiting for it to drop below $13.00.

More people need to understand this. If they actually were any good at picking winners and losers, they would be managing an investment fund instead of being a run of the mill analyst.

I wouldn't worry about getting any money back in a class action. Those things are always bs.

Hopefully it just hangs out here for a few days and then starts to move higher. I think it will be a long time before it hits 24 again but let's hope for the best. Muddy Waters hasn't exactly been spot on with their analysis in the past.
