Our lineups should fluctuate based on the competition that night and where we have advantages and disadvantages. For example, few teams have a PF and SF that can light us up. So switch Chandler accordingly and put him on the best player. Either way that pulls them closer to the basket as they try to post Chandler up and brings them closer to D12 for intimidation and shot blocking.

That is good coaching. Design the offense around the talents of the players. Bad coaching is try to make the players fit into your inflexible system.

They could try one on the left block & one the right block, if they play together, so if one of them gets doubled by a big, it will leave the other one open for a dunk or layup. If D-Mo can establish himself somewhat as a post-up player, that will help Dwight's game.

I don't know why we are talking about this though because along the lines of good coaching utilizing your team's strengths, they are starting Asik at the 5 and moving Dwight to the 4.

    EXACTLY!!!

And then when they want to spread the floor and sit one of Asik/Dwight they are going to bring in the dude that can spot up and light it up. My point is that ain't DMo or TJones. DMo and TJones are #9 and #10 in the rotation. That isn't going to change over the next 2 weeks unless there is an injury or trade.

From last game it looked like the plan when Dwight and Asik play together is to just run a million pick and rolls with one or the other waiting down low for the dump off pass.

That can work for as a change of pace.

Looks like McHale has it down to an 8 man rotation of Howard, Asik, Parsons, Harden, Beverley, Lin, Garcia and Casspi, with D-Mo the ninth guy for spot minutes.

    I like it.

DMo comes in and immediately the offense picks up - defense not so much.

    :)

Don't worry. Tonight, for the second straight game, McHale was just "experimenting". I'm sure he is just saving Dmo/Jones for the real games. His "secret weapon", if you will. We don't want the whole NBA to figure us out yet, now do we?

It's not about doubling at all, Harden can breakdown any defender in the nba if he has the room. What Howard does is all about attention, the opposing center and most important help defender can't hedge Howard (I can't stress this enough, Howard creates more space 3 feet from the basket than Asik does 6 feet away), you have to body him, because if he gets any room to operate you're just going to be watching a dunk show. Previously someone like Hibbert could hedge Asik (stand about 3 feet off him and just cut off any penetration) whilst being in place to help on Harden, not any longer.

Now the opponents have to choose something else, have your wings shut up shop to stop penetration, and Indiana tried this in game 2 of the asia games, problem this creates though is it leaves the perimeter players open and we punished them with a lot of 3's, wide open threes.

The offense mostly picks up for the Spurs.

    LOL.

The defensive dropoff contrast when DMo was in the middle was like Summer to Winter with the flick of a switch. He was totally exposed as a huge Al Jefferson defensive zero tonight.

Before we continue this I want to get one thing clear,I hope whatever plan they have works. Do I think asik-howard combo can work? Yes at certain points vs certain teams. Granted, when the magic went to the finals, they didn't have anyone of hardens caliber offensively, but the other 3 spots were probably better than what the rockes have now. Beyond that, the lakers with either pau or bynum played him 1 on 1. I will also say that the magic was probably 2 qts away from winning that series or at least taking it the distance, but after they lost that game 3,it was kinda over. I would love to have a true 4. I actually would've liked to see scola come back and play for the team and have 1 of the young guys split time with him. It didn't happen so no sense of crying abaout it. Whatever happens,I hope they just do it. To me,it seems as though they're trying to keep asiks value to a point before moving him. Tbh we don't even know if the move him if its for a 4 or a 1. Although the 1 is in better shape,it can be upgraded as well. I guess we will all have to wait until the 30th.

again Millsap would be a very good fit

relatively cheap and can hit the midrange
    able to bang down low

If you don't like DMo that's fine but why do you have to make up such dumb ****?
DMo played good tonight for the little amount of time he was in the game.

DMo played good for a YMCA league. It's not a matter of whether I like him or not. It's a matter of what's happening on the court. He's not in the top 8. Because of his play on the court. I didn't make that up. DMo did.
