Rocketman95, as silly and dumb as this whole thing sounds, it actually highlights a very serious issue in the NFL (and you see the method of Goodell's madness and *cough* most of the owners - logical business sense), this Dan Wetzel article points out several of them: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--r...-s-growing-quarterback-problem-132011360.html * Not enough great to above average QBs go around (never really has been . . . in the past it was much fewer teams in the NFL) * Increasingly pass happy league * Some teams lack a star attraction (Yes, we can hear all day about how football is a team game and it's about everyone on the team ... yet there are good teams who cannot sell out games in many professional sports, example Cincinnati, San Diego, Atlanta teams, and etc). Football is not everyone's religion (no sport is), it's not enough to just watch a good team play. Again, the casual fan or brief moment person wants to see something a little more electrifying or eye-appealing. Casual fans are often attracted to stars or "star-laden" teams/franchises. LeBron, Peyton, Kobe, Tiger, or popular teams, like the Cowboys, Manchester U, or the Packers. Sidenote: I hate to say this as an Atlanta native, but most people outside of the city and state probably do not want to watch the Falcons or Hawks as they are, no matter how good they are right now. The Hawks have no exciting players and are dumping the "Human-Highlight Factory" for the "Spurs-Brand of Winning Basketball (though without Tim Duncan). Lots of people readying themselves to watch Atlanta. Biggest problems: Empty stadiums, TV blackouts, playoff games that don't quite sell out... http://nfl.si.com/2012/11/25/attendance-woes-haunt-nfl-in-week-12/ http://business.time.com/2013/10/15...ng-how-stupid-it-is-to-black-out-games-on-tv/ http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ery-likely-to-be-blacked-out-on-monday-night/ http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-falcon...are-9000-tickets-available-for-sold-out-game/ http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/blog/_/...y-years-later-nfl-blackouts-remain-issue-fans http://www.sportstalkflorida.com/poll-how-many-bucs-games-will-be-blacked-out-in-2013/ Yes, I actually do see one or two NFL franchise moving overseas (not forming) within the next eight years to either London, Mexico City,Toronto, or Montreal. American cities ... I would say Portland is #1, followed by San Antonio, Oklahoma City, and Los Angeles. Suspected List (from most likeliest to least likeliest): Tampa Bay Jacksonville San Diego Miami Cincinnati Minnesota Detroit Oakland Arizona Atlanta - least likely (especially since the new stadium deal and the owner seems to have personal interest for the city, if it were someone who was not as passionate about Atlanta/Georgia in general... the team would definitely be a prime suspect to relocate).
It makes "crazy" sense in the Rams case. People are leaving the stadium in droves, while the game isn't quite sold out. Who better to get than Brett Favre ... living legend and can actually play QB.
Detroit has a stadium with almost 20 years left on the lease...not going anywhere. Construction on Minny's new stadium starts after this season.....not going anywhere.
