A bit more on 2K14 with this video (some screens of menus/game modes, plus a bit more video from the GS/MIA game): <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/qkj01pgG5EE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Compressed streaming video of the game isn't really fair with this game (or any PS4/XBO games...really need direct feed, 1080p/60 FPS video with little/no compression), but it definitely does look like less of a jump from the "gameplay" angle. Also, boo on Gamespot for putting in that current-gen footage at the beginning. Confused me, especially since the compression really hurts the quality of the video to such a degree that you almost can't tell the difference. Semantics, but while I agree this isn't a simple port, I don't really buy it being a completely new game and all that nonsense. Looks like the same game with several next-gen enhancements (which isn't a bad thing necessarily). (BTW, confirmed that the game will be 1080p/60 FPS, which is great!)
The animations look a little better. But still largely the same, and could use some work. Don't necessarily mind the gameplay being almost the same. The AI seemed better, and screens seem a little more complex.
EDIT: No I was right. Some of these players look great from the side but a little weird from the front.
They did say they went to the arenas and scanned all of the players faces during last season which is pretty cool
Thinking about buying the game after I skipped 2k13, some questions. My questions are mainly about the online experience. 1. How are the servers? Used to lag a lot these past years and you'd also disconnect from time to time. 2. Did they improve the passing? Players used to pass with the strength of 8 year-old girls in 2k13 and 2k12, resulting in many turnovers and people having to always play safe passes instead of risky ones(e.g. when passing in traffic, dishing it to the other side of the zone etc.) 3. I heard the defense in the paint is improved, how does that play out online? Are people still able to easily break down defenders 1on1 with dribbling moves or running in circles while holding the sprint button? Or is it possible to contain them now? 4. How is the offensive rebounding? Used to be way too easy, resulting in too many 2nd chance points and inflated ORB stats. Thanks, brehs.

This game is sick. Defense is better. I can swarm a ball handler full court man to ma, I get beat sometimes but if you work at it, staying in front if your man is easily done. Blocks are realistic. Low post animations are realistic. Driving contact layups are realistic. This game is a big step up from 2k13.
Just finished my first year in Association. Played as the Rockets. First moves I made was to trade Asik and Brooks to Minnesota for Derrick Williams, to spread the floor. Signed Ronnie Brewer, since he wasn't on the roster. I also traded for Danny Green (forget who I got rid of). I signed Tracy McGrady during the season just because. He mostly sat on my bench. Won the title. Off-season is where it got interesting. I completely gutted the team, with the exception of Harden, Parsons and Howard, to try and free up cap to sign LeBron. He opted out but ultimately re-signed with the Heat. During the draft (where I gutted the team) I traded Lin and Williams to Denver for Kenneth Faried, who only makes $2M. When I couldn't get LeBron, I signed Eric Bledsoe who is now 85 in the game after one year...Traded for Dirk for trash really (1-year $7M left on his contract). Teams: Bledsoe 85 Harden 95 Parsons 86 Dirk 81 Howard 98 Faried 83 Beverley 72 Michael Carter-Williams 68 Rest of the team is kind of trash.
New video of next-gen version (more like a vidoc I guess): <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/5BJR6z1W7Ew" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Looks great as usual.
They should put FIBA world cup in the game since you can't use them in association mode they should have that in the game IMO
