If he can get his pre-snap reads down, then he will be dangerous. Can we get highlights of Keenums first game? I'm surprised they aren't up yet.
god if only there were some magical way for completely inexperienced, young qb's to learn and adapt over a certain period of time! alas, there is not... and thus, comparing Case's first ever career start with a garbage o-line and practically no RB's against the best defense on the road to one of the greatest qb's in the history of the game is a just and apt one!
Theoretically, suffer this season then exterminate.... but like another poster said, McNair may still do nothing.
“Matt and T.J. really helped getting Case prepared for the game,” Kubiak said. ...and they should continue to do so.
Keenum was effectively a rookie QB playing his first game in the pros so much more and worse mistakes should have been expected. Cut him some slack.
Maybe if you read the context of my post, you wouldn't need a sarcastic response for it. The poster I quoted was saying that our line gave him no chance to succeed, and that Tom Brady would have been destroyed all the same. I'm saying Tom Brady would have made the pre-snap read because he's a vet, and it's not our O-line's fault they couldn't block an overload blitz with five guys. I want Case to finish the season as QB.
I didn't say audible, I said read the blitz and adjust. Watch the replay on the last sack fumble... our two inside slot receivers were open on slants. Y'all act like I'm saying he was terrible in his first game, on the road, against the Chiefs. I'm just being realistic.
Don't know how to embed this one: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-fantasy/0ap2000000267162/QB-Keenum-to-WR-Johnson-42-yd-pass This play stuck out to me the most.
I love how completely rational and balanced the two scenarios are... Keep in mind, as well as he played, the Texans scored 16 points and lost, which isn't appreciably different from how their season was going with Schaub (17.6 points/game; 2-4 record). This is looking like a 5-to-7-win season, regardless of QB.
