While Dmo hurts us in more obvious ways(when he hurts us), Jones does it much more stealthy:

When he is on the floor our spacing falls apart and our ball movement turns to mush. While he doesn't look that bad individually(besides the clanks), the team is silently being choked to death by the invisible hand of market forces.(okay maybe not that bad)

I watched Django Unchained last night on cable. I was incredibly impressed with Tarantino's restraint, deft plot development and taste.

I am certainly much much less impressed with CF intellectual acuity. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth. One can explain the situation a hundred times to the village idiot. He will never get it. It is the same here. Except the village idiot is the CF community. I kid you not.

We had better spacing out of the starters against Indiana, than we did New Orleans... (so much so, Indiana decided to pack the paint, and let em shoot in the 2nd game), the tactics both teams employed were basically the same thing though, stand off, close out (really) late.

Is it Dmo's stellar 2-10 from 3 over Jones' pathetic 1-4 that I'm missing?

There have been a few examples of 2nd year players starting on title teams. (rarely rookies)

Robert Horry is one. He DID GET TRADED even. He was shaky inconsistent until that trade made him more focused.

Other examples are players who proved themselves enough like Tayshaun Prince, AC Green, etc. D-Mo and T-Jones are definitely behind them at same points in their careers though

Its not really that high a concern to me. Because Rockets are already a team willing to use unconventional approaches to get production from PF spot ("Small ball" jury is still out on it but in a pinch it can help at least against others 2nd teams)

I prefer to have D-Mo play minutes and just get the development time. And just go with the commitee approach until theres improvent, or until likely trade.

Really lol @ at the 100th thread on the PF situation or Casspi one

Let those guys play it out. They probably play 30 games and then make a trade or stay with the way it is.

@JTR Hey, you learn nothing. Haven't you been told not to be condescending and look down to others?

I find that teams eventually don't give a crap about either one on the perimeter, daring them to shoot. But the ball definitely die when it gets to Jones' hands. I don't think it's about him being selfish. But rather he just doesn't seem to have a good grasp of where to pass the ball. His passes tend to be very bleh and not really serve a pupose. Very hesitant player on a team that thrives on ball movement. Whereas DMo at least try to make things happen even when he doesn't shoot.

I guess the gist of it is, neither is going to play much if they can't shoot. But if both of them can shoot, DMo fits with the team better.

He cannot even stay on the floor against 3rd stringers in preseason.....
4 games and 4 Personal Fouls a game in very limited minutes

Against 2rd units and first units he is going to foul out in less than 20 minutes therefore you know he is not going to be aggressive

After a couple of fouls he is playing like a scared chicken on Defense

He is making things happen by fouling out or sitting out because of fouls

I think all three musketeers Dmo, Jones and Casspi will be in the rotation so it seems

The ability to stay on the floor is very important for a young player in order to earn minutes

Jones is doing a better job there and Dmo might learn that in time

Dwigth vs Omer starter, DMo play until fouled out, left bench time Jones vs Casppi. problem solved.

    DMO > TJones.

He is way better than T-Jones on every aspect of the game, plus he is a gym rat. Plus, helpiong his National team win Silver medals should give him some credit.
He played awesomely against Indiana and not bad against Orlando being the second top scorer. He gained weight to become stronger and he still can run the floor probably the fastest from all our big men.

BUT, I would agree that T-Jones has potential to become good, but we want a championship team this year and as of now Dmo should have edge. to get those 13-15minutes a game. He worked his ass off whole year and he improved, even on defence, he was doing ok at C position and I wouldn't be surprised if after 2 years he would be our starter with 6-7mln per year paycheck, if not he would probably find a team (rebuilding one) that he would be.

How many shots per game have the power forwards been getting this preseason?

Haha I see what you did there.

Terrence 6 attempts per game, Dmo 9 attempts while playing 5 minutes longer

McHale tightening up the rotation as regular season approaches. Tonight's 8 man rotation:

    Howard/Harden/Asik/Beverley/Lin/Parsons/Casspi/Garcia

Starting lineups might get tweaked, but expect the same 8 guys on opening night. No Dmo, no Jones.
