well, the twin towers looks bad. No space on offense and too slow on defence. need to improve

 

Anyone with comments on Asik's play?

 

Good game, great test for our team.

 

Can I say it quietly that we are really really deep? I mean as a team of course, we all know about our PFs. LOL

 

Thought Lin was okay apart from the first 10 minutes or so where Calderon was having his way with him.

Just missed some makeable shots.

Bev was definitely the better player on the night though although Lin created more.

He just doesn't play well with Howard at all. Pretty much invisible on the court when playing with Howard. Though he played relatively well in the second half, when he was the sole center of the team.

Maybe it's just a matter of time, but from what I've seen so far of the Twin Tower, it's not very encouraging.

 

A bit sluggish. He just came back from injury. We'll see how it goes against the Spurs.

 

Those two play very different style of pg play. Lin is an excellent playmaker. Bev is an excellent complementary player that does the dirty work. In fact, the Bev and Lin combo is awesome. I think the best lineup is Bev, Lin, harden, parsons and Howard. I also see a lot of good things with the twin towers. They were sloppy today but both guys changed a lot of shots.

 

Harden jr vs Lebron junior?

Only position that we lack is SG, which should not be a big deal.

 

depth wise, that is.

 

Twin Towers looked really awkward out there. Asik looked a lot better when Dwight was on the bench.

 

Except Harden should shoot the ball every time instead of trying to get the ball to Dwight. I rather have 7 missed shots by Harden than 7 TO's. At least Asik and Howard have chance at the rebound.

 

It takes time. It will work. Its just first game together.

let's ignore the 6 turnovers by harden and focus on the fourth option when it comes to scoring =/
Calderon's barrage of points came from lin being picked off. Mikael had 7 of his points on bev the same way and missed a couple of shots once wide open. We've never defended the pick and roll well going back to the JVG days.

Give me crisper post entry passes and better pick and roll d with some more of harden in the post. that's all i want.

if we want to get picky lin should have finished with a stat line of 11 points/10 assists, one 3ball nulled by an offensive foul and a missed goal tend.

 

Asik's got to be discouraged when he runs around sets 100 screens, fights for rebounds - then posts up sealing his man behind him looking for an entry pass and the team just goes away from him.

Granted he's not the most adept down low - but you've got to keep him active and interested. I feel bad for him sometimes.

Twin Towers. Can't judge too harshly since it was the first time in a game.
There was room for some optimism with Dwight looking good matching up with Dirk pretty well - apart from his biting on the shot fakes.

I'd use Lin off the bench.
Unless he's got the mindset of attacking the basket and looking to score - and drop off to the big man his defender comes over to help - I feel he' isn't being used to his strength and we'd be better served having Bev in there.
