He is one of the Cavs all time leaders in many stats categories. And he was a class act for them for many years and even took a major paycut to stay with their mediocre team at one point. Cavs standards aren't as high as some of the teams.
He was the most beloved Cav (excluding LeBron) for an extended period of time. I think it is a nice gesture for the team to bestow on him.
He played the most games as a Cav and leads all time in rebounds for the franchise. Plus they love him, and don't have as high of a bar as, say, the celtics
deserving so. 1 st in rebounds, 1st in games played, 2nd all time in points, played 15 years - all with the cavs and currently works in the cavs office. Its a no brainier. Remeber, this isn't a HOF induction. If the Cavs want his jersey retired, they have every right to do so
He deserves it. If he hadn't gotten injured because of his height, I think he could have achieved a lot more success.
